I’ve got a friend who’s trying to walk onto BYU - he was told the standards were 1:53,9:25, and 4:15.
They say that (the 3200 number might be lower), but they also sign a big class every year and several signees each year seem to have numbers well below those. I think you need numbers like that for coaches to pay attention and really want someone based off numbers, but they also seem to make space for guys that have something else they are looking for. Maybe you can make it with lower PRs if you have some big XC wins or good performances at national XC meets, for example.
