I have New Balance Xc 5000 spikes now. Im going for a 4:15ish 1500m this track season. How much difference will a more aggressive track spike like the Nike Zoom Victory 3 make?
Thanks

A little bit.
just go with the xc spikes for now. not much difference
I am a junior in high school, and I have had my one pair of cross spikes (Saucony Havoc) since freshman year. I just switch out the lengths of the spikes for track. Got me to 4:18 and 1:57 so far, so I'll not change it up.
By keeping with xc spikes we may be leaving a half second on the table; I'm okay with that. We'll be faster when we do get track spikes eventually.
Why don't you treat yourself and get them?
It is good to change spikes, different stresses.
Psychologically it might help you as they are more aggressive spikes.
Your spikes will last twice as long if there are two pairs, possibly even longer due to decompression.
So really, you will be saving money.
At your level it probably wont make all that much of a difference and one thats not work the cost of new spikes. If you can afford it go for it and if you see some substantial improvement Id get some new spikes. I ran Havoks freshmen and sophomore year and they worked fine but once I broke 4:20 this fall and picked up some dragonflys and they feel so much better at the faster speeds especially for the 3200
