Hi guys
I'm trying to sprint a mile (1607m, not 1600m btw) but I never seem to get much further than 150m before feeling really out of breath like I can't go any further ?

That's because it's not physiologically possible to sprint for a mile.
Try sprinting the 3000m, it will be a lot better.
Mentally I'm really strong I feel it's more a physical problem

Mentally I'm strong that's not the issue

"Physiologically" doesn't mean "psychologically", moran.
I hope you're joking. No one can sprint a mile. Even Bolt slows near the end of a 100 meters.
As long as your goal is sub-6 mile.
Sprint sub-45 first 400m, standing one minute recovery then race run final 1209.344 metres sub-4:15.
A mile is longer than 1607 meters.
just try harder ok? wrote:

Moron*
Have you tried "Interval Training"? I know it's fairly new on the running scene but i feel like slowing increasing the sprint distance over time would get you to a full mile within maybe 6 months of dedicated work.

7/10 for the replies and decent follow ups. Some nice touches.
Slow and steady wins the race. FALSE
Fast always wins the race
A mile is actually 1(6)0(9) meters.

Nice ??
Dwight, sprint 150m today, 160m tomorrow, and 170m the next. You’ll eventually get to 1610 meters meaning you will be able to sprint for over a mile at a time.
This is why it takes so long for elite marathoners to train, imagine having to do this process for 26.43 miles!!!
I tried doing it for 26.43 miles and I died, would not recommend.
