Like RATS fleeing a sinking ship.
News of the markets' tanking yesterday helped me realize that there are substantial numbers of Americans who--because of the party currently holding the White House and majorities in Congress--simply *don't want* the economy to recover; *don't want* Covid-19 under control in this country; *don't want* America to return to something resembling normality.
Until the 2022 and/or 2024 elections are past, those people *do want* a hiccuping economy with long-term inflation; *do want* to be able to say that more Americans died of Covid on Biden's watch than on Trump's; *do want* a large portion of the population to be frustrated and angry. And if the price of that is misery for millions and death for thousands? Well, you can't make an omelet without cracking an egg or two amirite?
So, sure, they'll continue to foster vaccine skepticism/resistance--though many have quietly been vaccinated themselves--because they see that as the surest route to getting the things they want. The sheer meanspiritedness of such a cynical attitude is breathtaking, but hardly a surprise: The current GOP has fostered and rewarded that meanspiritedness, that wishing others ill, for decades now. But it makes me sad.

I forgot that she could. If any of them have already clearly denied/contradicted any undeniable facts about the event, sure.
And, if we lived in a reasonable country, that litmus test ought to apply to them having been clearly irrational/dishonest about just about anything else of any substance. But currently, that would probably disqualify WAY too many Rs, so maybe, "politically," she ought not go that route.

It might make sense to veto anyone who is a potential witness.
The more reason to kill the filibuster and give the party with majority power to carry out some of their agenda without unlimited obstruction. On the bright side, history shows that when Ds are in power the country doesn’t go to $hit so expect an easy re-election win for Bada$$ Biden.
agreed, Kibbitzer.
Mitch says every time that there is a dem president that Mitch's main job is to make that president fail. It's obscene.
I dearly hope the R party dissolves into a mess of goo and is resurrected as a party that actually wants the country to be a better place all the time.
So GW Bush, Mitt Romney and the former VP Mike Pence can't stand at a podium in front of the GQP base without being heckled and booed from the stage and that doesn't strike you as a party in a real mess and turning on itself?

It does, but the problem is too many people will still just vote for “their team.”

I’m not sure. Clearly an overwhelming majority of conservatives are more than happy to stay behind a reckless stone cold loser and a party that has fully embraced a path to autocracy. The best bet is to just keep putting their extremism on full display to chip away the party’s support. Watching the likes of Gym Jordan show their lunacy in front of a national audience help turn the notch up on the urgency of Ds coming out to vote.

Meant to add that it’s critical for Ds to be and remain on the offense on all these issues. So far into Biden’s presidency the party seems a bit relaxed to me. Trump didn’t go away so I don’t understand why they are not hammering him constantly still. Keep it known to the whole country that he’s still the top threat and that the GQP worships him.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You can say I’m lying all you want but I backed my assertions up with facts. It’s great for you that you bought overpriced cars that the manufacturer says you can’t charge or park near anything. Hope you’re praying that the “fix” is better than the last one. In the back of your mind you’ll always think - is this thing going to catch fire tonight and burn down the neighbirhood? 🔥🔥🔥 Tesla is great but you’ll end up paying for it 2-3 times the cost of the already overpriced car once you’re done with the costly repairs, half baked services, paying for services multiple times, etc. Kudos to Elon for creating a model for suckers who will end up paying and paying. . 💰💰💰💰 Tesla is hugely successful because they created a model that makes them a lot of dough off fanboys and suckers. 🦤🦤🦤🦤🎣🎣🎣🎣
She’s going have dementia joe plugging cow a$$es as soon as he finishes that ice cream. 😂😂😂😂 The far left has joe by the balls.

Substantial numbers of Americans *already* are living life as normal, their economy *already* recovered (check the GDP and unemployment stats of red states). Seriously LOL at your take.

Tesla has already made a lot of dough for me.
Investors think Tesla is worth more than Toyota, Volkswagen, and GM combined. Those investors are wrong. In five years, Tesla will be worth five times its value today. And the legacy auto makes will lose half their value.
Gas cars are toast. And the legacy autos are way behind in their quest to make EV's.
When Tesla delivers its $25,000 model, the game is over. I believe that will happen in late 2023.
