Rep. James Comer says investigating Biden's mishandling of classified documents is of the "utmost importance" after the FBI retrieves notebooks from his Delaware home.
Because that is not what our Founding Fathers put in the Constitution. Do you not care about the constitution? Or just ignore the constitution when it doesn't suit you? You only want your party to succeed and screw the constitution?
Constitution is amendable. One person one vote. Won’t happen any time soon though.
One person one vote ain't happening in our lifetimes.
An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification.
Remember that there are a lot more Dems than Trumpists and that's how this nation has voted. Only due to our arcane and anti-democratic system have monsters like trump and Bush2 been put in office and inflicted such damage on the nation and planet. The R party should be forced to adapt to the nation, not enabled to take control by minority rule.

FUN FACTS: If the American electoral system went by popular votes (you know, the ‘will of the people’) vs. the electoral college, the last Republican President would have left office 29+ years ago. Why shouldn't the candidate who more Americans vote for become President?

Why do you hate democracy Sally? Why do you insist that the majority should not rule and that the minority should win half the time despite having fewer votes? Are you such a loather of democracy that you would rather have minority rule?

Just playing your stupid game.
The US Constitution is the greatest document ever written. Think about that. And all of you Libs want to change it simply because changing it would suit you politically. That is a really sad reason for wanting to amend it.

The Founders would be so sad thinking that one party (Dems) want to change their great document because it suits them politically. They had ideals - Dems just want enhanced power. Quite a contrast.

Agip. Always complaining about the rules that have been in place for centuries when it suits him. The parties know the rules and act accordingly. Republicans focus their attention on winning votes where necessary to win elections, not the popular sentiment, just as Democrats do. It's why 80% of Democratic candidates funding in places like Georgia comes from states like New York and California. If the Republicans cared about winning the popular vote, they would spend more time and money in places with large populations but Democratic majorities trying to get Republican voters to show up, where their votes are largely meaningless. The tide is turning. Republicans won the popular vote in the 2022 midterms by 3 million votes. As Biden and the Dems continue to fail bigly in the second half of his term, voter sentiment will continue to shift towards Republicans. The Democrats retaining control of the Senate is actually a blessing in surprise for Republicans as we head into recession, as the blame for the downturn will mostly be blamed on Democrats.

dude it's been amended 33 times.
Sure, but the amendment you are seeking is only to benefit the Democrat party ... not the nation. If the Constitution said democracy rules, and you Dems kept losing presidential elections, you Libs would try to amend it to create an electoral college. You guys (and I say this respectfully) are all about increasing your political power.

one popular vote win in 34 years
Popular vote doesn't mean squat. The Constitution says electoral college. So, let's not bring up popular vote again because it is a non-starter.

ok we'll keep electing minority rule presidents who are legit awful. Democracy rejected the two worst presidents of the last 50 years, Bush2 and Trump, but this stupid anti-democratic system put them in power. And the nation has suffered grievously from it. And will go on suffering.

More people currently identify as Republicans than Democrats (this fluctuates year to year) and they won more votes in 2022.
Too bad your source was from January 2022. Evidently on a year old Gallup poll, where everyone is either R or D and nothing in-between. But, as the later link below shows, at the end of 2022 (via "phone" surveys ... LOL): 28% R, 28% D, 41% I. "Bottom Line: Last year was not as strong a year for Republicans electorally as they had wanted."

black people and women voting doesn't mean squat. The Constitution says they can't vote. So let's not bring up black people and women voting again because it's a non-starter.
Just one political party trying to gain advantage. Reject it.

Agip - if we did away with the electoral college, wouldn't Calif. and NY determine most elections? Do you want 2 states to determine pretty much all the presidential elections? Should not all states have a say in who the president is?
