you just said that you have seen no evidence of white conservatives working to suppress the black vote. To me that means you are not coming from a place of good faith but rather from a place of 'let's yell at each other for a while.' Not interested.
How else am I supposed to respond? I was being patient and giving you several chances to make your case. My actual opinion is Joe Biden called it Jim Crow on steroids because he is a lying demogoguic idiot trying to distract from his other failures at the time. Record midterm turnout. is further evidence he was full of sh!t, as he often is.
i guess we're just not on the same playing field on this issue. I won't engage with someone who fundamentally sees the world differently than I do and misses obvious truths. Anyone who stands up and says 'american conservatives don't work to suppress the black vote' is out of bounds, not cognizant of the country we live in, and not likely to change his mind about it.
I’ve witnessed a lot of racism in my life. It’s literally acceptable on this website to call an entire race of people less intelligent. Maybe you’re just not very observant.
Everyone has seen or experienced racism. I don't know what that has to do with anything we're discussing. If you witnessing racism formed your illogical views on race issues, then it's something you need to work on.
Everyone’s life experiences inform their views. Or lack of

Agip - you are pretty open to having discussions with conservatives and others here and this struck me as unlike you: "I won't engage with someone who fundamentally sees the world differently than I do and misses obvious truths."
As I am a pretty staunch conservative and you are pretty liberal/progressive, I have admired your openness to debating/arguing with the "other side." To say that you won't engage with someone who has opposing viewpoints shuts down half the population. As much as some of the liberals/progressives here drive me crazy I still welcome the interaction and discourse.

Modern conservatives work to suppress the black vote under the guise of election integrity. This is well documented and one of many examples of systemic racism in our country’s history. Don’t know if Loper is just denying that the current Georgia laws are an attempt at that, or that conservatives have never done that, but in either case it’s demonstrably wrong.
Are we limiting voter suppression proof to Georgia? because Ron DeSantis had a judge this year strike down portions of a new law the GOP rolled out in FL to attack voter fraud that didn’t exist.
he specifically identified that the law would target minorities and make it harder for them to vote.

well thanks Sally. On most subjects I do enjoy talking and arguing with people who disagree with me. That's why I come here, plus to see what other non-Republicans say.
But some subjects just don't work...if a guy thinks American conservatives don't actively try to suppress the black vote, then there's really no place to talk.
I mean until a few years ago the Federal government literally had to preapprove election laws passed in the former confederacy because those states repeatedly proved they were eager and willing to repeatedly suppress the black vote. Federal oversight was retracted only in 2013. Very recently.
If Hardloper thinks that the Southern conservatives have in the last 9 years completely reformed themselves from a century or more of suppressing black votes...well I just don't feel like anything I can say would make any difference to him on this.
That said, I will say that lefties make too much of many election security laws passed by Republican legislatures. Much of it is just common sense and isn't harmful.

Concur. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Fraud exists at every level of government. It is baffling that people are naive enough to think elections are immune to it.
Sam Brinton was charged with felony theft after allegedly snatching a Vera Bradley suitcase reportedly worth $2,325 from baggage claim at the Minneapolis St. Paul Airport.

As a Christian man of god, there are, of course, very few things I don't know with divine certitude bestowed upon me for my efforts in Faith and remonstration. So I can tell you without due haste and qualification that you are a BLM-riot denier and too woke for your own good. Adjustment is needed.
America is the land of freedom, where a man can win and the loser will lose. It is the natural order of our liberty that the winners will rise to fame and fortune, while the common schlep wallows is gruel and self pity. I am honored to be an American, battling against the forces of filth that would undermine our god-granted superiority.
Why don’t people that live in these cities run away? Why aren’t they terrified? Are these democrat voters just really brave and courageous? Maybe I should put that in a veteran of the inner city on my job applications
All cities have areas that residents know to avoid. And unfortunately, they are mainly black areas of town. Not doing nothing but stating the facts. Avoid those areas of town.
I didn't know you were a racist. You should get that checked.

Says the guy who avoids the same neighborhoods for the same reason.
Pretending reality doesn't exist doesn't make you a good person it makes you a toddler pulling the covers over your eyes.

stating provable, unarguable facts doesn't make someone a racist.

I’m pretty confident that I have a better understanding of racial issues than you. I’m not always as confident in the points I’m making as I pretend to be, but in this I am. I think you’re out of touch. I couldn’t tell you exactly where the problem is because you don’t say enough about what you actually think, but there’s a disconnect somewhere.
The fact that you narrowly focus on the 3% of protests that escalated into property damage as opposed to the 97% of protests expressing (peacefully) widespread discontent about the state of race relations in the country as a result of a long history of discrimination tells me that you’re worried about the wrong thing. If I turn into a woke lib on this issue, then you’re like my conservative grandpa who thinks the blacks doth riot too much.
