Anyone genuinely interested and not an **** may find her autobiography interesting. She talks a fair bit about background, gender, running etc.
It's always strange some people can be so offended by how someone else wants to identify themselves. You can see really who has the genuine identity issues from that.
She also talks somewhat about those other numpties. Again, probably not worth it if you're a Trump supporter ;).
People can identify however they want. What they can’t do is make me go along with a silly, childish, lie.
But left to itself, that’s exactly what the left will do.

Wait a minute. I saw Eddie Izzard in a small club in the East Village back in the mid 1990s, and he was a guy. A flamingly orginal and very funny guy--gender-fluid before we had that term, yes--but still a guy.
Should I be confused? I think I'm a little confused. But heck s/he was very funny and original. I'm cool with whoever Eddie is.
This is the Eddie Izzard that I saw. Up close and personal. Memorable. Impossible to hate this person.
They aren't "young clothes" they're her clothes; she paid for them. What did you not understand?
You think "girl genes" means women are different? Did civil rights champion MLK think "color genes" mean blacks are different? Or did he think we start out exactly the same?
Seriously boomers, what is happening to your brains?

And you are a dick so there's that......
I'd like to thank you, RunRagged, for your long post, and for sharing the video conversation about Izzard's recent activities. I haven't paid close attention--or any attention--to him in the past 25 years. He's a brilliant comic trying to play out the hand that was dealt to him in the best way he knows how. But I see, and agree with, your point.
It very strange, I'm forced to admit, to be a male feminist confronted with the trans revolution. I'm a straight man, but I've never had any homophobia or transphobia. That sort of negativity just wasn't part of my world growing up, and during my first stint in grad school my significant other was a feminist literary critic--someone who got me reading everybody from Tillie Olsen and Gilbert & Gubar to Audre Lorde and Adrienne Rich. My mentors back then were Carolyn Heilbrun and Ann Douglas.
Now we're here. And women are defining themselves in part as not-trans-women, whom they see as male pretenders in skirts w/lipstick, performing a sort of minstrel show.
Bruce Jenner was my hero!
Shoot me now.

Do you seriously think MLK would have been happy with white guys 'identifying' as black and getting any positive discrimination benefits (not that there were any in his day) such as black university or work quotas without any of the hardships or disadvantages that comes with being black?

It’s 3-4am in Europe and you are spending it thinking about Eddie Izzard so much that you post again about him on a running messageboard.
He won, you lost.
It’s making sense. She’s a washed up old comedienne trying to remake a name for herself. She making some cash on the side by advertising for zwift while masquerading behind a charity. I can’t wait for someone to say , “she’s doing for the children.”
Also, if you’re a guy and you want to date a lesbian you just need to ask her out. You don’t need to wear women’s clothes. This lizard dudette is a real tool.

Do you not think trans women can experience the same disadvantages? If you wore "women's clothes" and referred to yourself 'she' what do you think would happen? You'd probably experience physical and verbal abuse because you've shunned gender roles. Your feminine-ness would be ridiculed as weak. Is this different from sexist abuse directed at other women when they shun gender roles? Different from cis-women who are perceived as weak for their feminine-ness?
Multi racial people who have both black and white heritage but most people recognize them as black because it's the perception of 'blackness' rather than any concrete biological definition. The feminist position should be the same - it isn't just XY chromosomes which are the root of sexism the negative perception of anything associated with women.
Thank you for telling feminist women how to think. Is that how mansplaining is defined?

Spare me. A poster on this thread rants about women of a certain age being subject to sexist insults for their appearance or behavior. And instead of attacking it, contributes to it by using misogynistic tropes to describe appearance and behavior.
I believe you are an actual female. That’s a lot of words.......
As far as the story of this guy going into a women’s restroom and 11 year old girls were there with him.... he deserved a solid beat down for that. I’m sure if any of the girls’ dads knew a 20 something year old male was in the bathroom with 11 year olds, it would end bad for the dress wearing man.
Now he claims he’s a “lesbian?.” So he likes girls ?
He likes girls and goes into female restrooms. Someone take a bat to his head ASAP.
Spare you? Nope too late.
You can’t hide behind your sexist mansplaining by using tired and worn out gender studies cliches.
Eddie is known as a child killer in some areas.
The reason being when he did 53 marathons he made it look easy, even though they often took 10/12 hours as he walked most of it.So even though he raised a lot then, when people try and fundraise now they say "just 1,Izzard done 50" so don't donate as much ,therefore the overall fundraising is less, hence Eddie Izzard being a child killer.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
