The entire 'rich guys in nice suits' commentary style is quite offensive. How does he reconcile his religious beliefs with his very personal insults towards people for laughs? And it's not enough to just say I'm sorry after the fact either (in the case of his Royal Family/cancer jibes), when the damage has well and truly been done. He and those like him are basically using the Trump Model except they focus on a different demographic.
Colbert sucks. His show on Comedy Central was brilliant because he was playing a character. The real him is insufferable and represents a type of elitist liberalism that I despise. Kimmel sucks too.
They indeed do suck. So too Seth Meyers. Such a big part of their shows is trashing conservatives and especially Trump. Jay Leno used to be very good natured. Even Jon Steward. But these clowns are very mean-spirited.

If I’ve noticed anything about the people most likely criticize Meyers, Stewart, and Colbert, it’s that they had adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward any mean-spiritedness whatsoever.

Not true at all. I just quit watching any of those late night shows. When you bring politics into the equation and everything is about trashing conservatives and Trump that is a turn-off to half the population. I could not even tell you which party Jay Leno is part of. Jon Stewart is a liberal but does it in a humorous way. Kimmel used to be funny on the Man show but he is unwatchable now. Seth Meyers has 5 minutes of a unfunny monologue then goes into his "A Closer Look" which is ALL about trashing conservatives and Trump. It is just so lame. Colbert is indeed very mean-spirited. It is like they want to appeal to the liberals in show business.

You mention adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards mean-spiritedness. You can make fun of the other party members when you are mean-spirited it makes you look like a partisan hack. Jon Stewart never did that.
In the Hollywood echo chamber of talk show hosts that openly carry the water of absurdist Dems like Biden, Colbert is the worst of the bunch. The most I see of him are the “On the next Colbert….” ads, and then you hear that he is going to have Elizabeth Warren or Jill Biden on. Who the hell wants to watch that? Even worse, he’s just not funny. People liked him as a support act on The Daily Show, but filling David Letterman’s seat is a massive downgrade in talent. It’s like someone took an MSNBC anchor and told them to read bad jokes from a teleprompter
