So with covid being such a dumpster fire I’m reluctant to use a public gym in the near future. I live in the southeast with unbearable dew points at times in the summer. I’m looking for a decent tread to get to use on those >77 degree dew point days. I don’t need a lot of bells or whistles, heart rate monitors , screens, etc. just something that will get the job done. Any recommendations?

Nordic Track.

Just bought a Proform, same manufacturer as Nordic Track, for my wife. Seems decent. Got it at Costco. Good enough for casual use.

Woodway.
No bells and whistles. All work. And its both harder to run on comparatively and better for your joints because of the slats. -
If you can, I recommend going to a place that has many models, running on all of them. Cross-reference vs. reviews for reliability and make a decision that way. It's nice to have a local company that can do delivery, maintenance, etc. when you need them to.
I have a Matrix T50 with the cheapest screen. I ran on a bunch of the lifespan/Nordic Track stuff at the local reseller, and liked this one the most. I think I got it for ~$2700 and it's been very good. Our local gym has a bunch of them and always liked them.
If you think you're in this for the long haul, I recommend doing your best to stay out of the ~$1000 range. I did that a while back, and I regret not investing more earlier. -
I used a Woodway at the local university gym. It is my favorite type of treadmill but they are expensive fuggers.
