Why am I crapping blood??!!

Have you been taking a lot of wet poops lately? Your butthole might be dried out.

It might be Crohns Disease, it may be something to look into, have a doctor check out.

I had 2 occassions where I thought I wa crapping blood. I got it checked out the first time, nothing came of it. The second time I thought I crapped blood I realized that it wasn't blood at all, just a whole "shit" load of red gatorade mixed in with the diarhea.

Have you been drinking rad gatorade/powerade, that red dye will go right through ya!

Seriously, was there a "racing stripe" on the strip of crap or was the blood mixed in?

If there was a stripe then you probably have a tear in your sphincter muscle, possibly caused by too wide of crap. This is fairly common. This is not serious but you may need a stitch or two.

If the blood is mixed in, it is more serious.

Either way, if it keeps happening over the next couple days, you should see a doctor for either situation above. It's embarrasing as anything but you want it to heal. Losing blood regularly will seriously hurt your running performance and it could be a sign of something worse.

I had a similar situation a few years ago. Turns out it was ulcerative colitis. Basically mine was brought on by stress and the running. Had a sigmoioscopy to figure it out. Some meds and it was cleared up.

If it continues for more than a day, get it checked out. If it is once or twice, no worries.

Have you taken any painkillers? Sometimes Ibuprofen (sp?) can cause stomach bleeding, no need to worry though...

Only worry if it continues.

Is it in your stool? Or on the paper. If on the paper, no worries at all...

Never force one out, never strain, always let it come out in it's own time. This is a technique which requires practice.

If it's bright red, then you are probably fine - probably just a slight tear from a too much crapping/diarhea or something.

If it's dark red/black and it makes the toilet water change color, you need to see a doctor wit' a quickness.

Do you take ibuprofen before/during your runs? If you take too many it can cause bleeding as well. During a marathon once I overdid it with the Alleve and shat blood for the rest of the day (and my stomach was seriously aching for 2 full days).
