I doubt it.
Withrow, Solinsky, Bairu, etc.
What a stable of horses.

Yeah, CU will beat them again. Just watch.
GO BUFFS!!
Probably, the coach doesn't peak them well.

Hogs baby all day long.
Again, Wisconsin plays too many games and the coach is terrified of blowing it again. They'll play it too safe this year and try to run like Colorado and Arkansas, who is always aggressive will beat them suprisingly easily.
Colorado will own Wisconsin and Arkansas.
Arizona has five rabbits, which include the
No. 1 and No. 3 NJCAA finishers from last
year, Obed Mutanya and Moses Mpanga. When
you add Robert Cheseret, Jonah Maiyo, and
Mohamed Trafeh with these two top recruits,
you have one of the strongest groups of five
in the country.
I believe Arizona can compete with any of
the three teams just mentioned.
Oscar
yeah, arizona can on paper, but the cold weather will hurt their foreign imports. however, i wouldnt count them out by any means. wisconsin is the favorite, but wetmore knows what hes doing and i think cu will steal the national title away from the badgers, again.
Wisconsin has become a gathering place for good runners but end up with a suspect future. If they place in the top three I would be surprised especially after last year's flop.
If it is COLD outside and snowing Arizona will be lucky to finish in the top ten!.....Mark my word!
Agreed.
This years top three.
Withrow, Solinsky, Bairu
Last year top three.
Teg, Solinsky, Bairu
Last years top 3 is equal to if no better than this years. And Teg had a lot more championship experience than Withrow has. Withrow has probably never run a cross country 10k, yet alone an NCAA championship.
As for the individual, Rupp (as much as everyone, including me, hates him) will most likely be up there. Finished 2nd in the 10k at NCAAs last spring and Cheseret will be screwed in the cold and snow.
5 rabbits is no threat to one honey badger. Honey badgers eat king cobras.

Hmm, seems as if Withrow ran at the Senior Nationals XC meet. He made that team and was first finisher at the World Xc meet for the USA team.
Withrow outside of the top 10 seems unthinkable save injury or fall.
Can't remember what happened last year, eh?
I don't think anybody will beat the Badgers this year. Most sane people will agree that CU got lucky last year - there is very little chance that their top two put up the same 10 team points (or whatever they had) that they got last year and their 3-4-5 had as-good-as-could-have-hoped-for performances. The Badgers, on the other hand, are equal to last years team, in terms of talent, if not surpassing it. Their chances of running as poorly as they did last year are also not good. Barring injury, there is no way that any of Withrow, Bairu or Solinsky are out of the top 20 (and they all should be top 10). Ford, Lockhart, Nelson, and Eagon are all good enough to finish in the top 40 (overall), Wagner probably too. As a side note, it will be interesting to see which of those 8 doesn't make the national roster (my bet is Lockhart, who hasn't redshirted yet, I believe).
Arkansas will be a formidable challenge, moreso than Colorado, in my opinion. It seems as though Arizona will be stacked, also, as will be Iona, and you know Stanford will be good. I love NCAA xc.
Actually, Colorado improves a lot with their third man getting Nelson back from injury.
Colorado lost their 1-2 from the year before last.
That being said, I think Arkansas is going to take it this year.
"Most sane people say CU got lucky"
More like Colorado ran a better team race and peaked when it mattered. Colorado was the best team on the course that day. Scoreboard.
Got to pick Wisconsin now. I heard that Vaughn is hurt and not training.

I don't think anyone who knows anythng about running would call what happened to CU last year at Nationals luck. They showed up on the day and wisconsin did not. Personally, I'd like to see wisconsin take it while trampelling Rupp along the way. But, I think it will be arkansas, it's been too long since the hogs walked away with the cross title. Also, remember what happened to Cheseret when it was -10 in Iowa, I think he was 70 something place, don't bet on Arizona when it gets cold.

I still don't get this. CU outran the Badgers and Wetmore outcoached Jerry. CU ran smart for the conditions on that course, Wisco did not. Get over it already!
Additionally, I just don't get the lack of respect for Vaughn and Schoolmeester. They were sub 8:50 two milers in h.s and Vaughn is still relatively new to the sport! Besides, he had one of the most productive calender years in the NCAA last year with a 4th in xc, 8th in indoors 5k (while running sick), and 4th in outdoors 5k (while running injured) Though he would never use either of those reasons as an excuse. I mean the kid beat just about every name out there in the college ranks lat year!
The Badgers will not make the same mistake at last year. No under-estimating and stupid running back in the pack. It is very possible they will put 3 in the top 10 and 2 in the top 5 with a possible victory. The pack will not fail this year and the Badgers will roll. I can see Arkansas giving them a run for their money. As for CU, they did pull of an upset last year and should get a pat on the back regardless of skill or luck.
