Not familiar with adidas shoe releases but I just bought a pair of the SL20s about 2 weeks ago and have been running in them everyday since. Tempo days, runs to the track, track workouts, it’s responsive and picks up speed easily. Prior to this, my fastest non race shoe was a Pegasus, and this blows it out of the water for anything under 10 miles. It’s so much lighter, less cushion, and like I said picks up pace effortlessly.
I just saw this morning about the SL20.2. From the few YouTube first impression videos I’ve seen it looks like a much beefier shoe. Stack height is higher, and it doesn’t seem like that snappy and responsive as the originals. Is adidas trying to pivot on what they want this shoe to be for? I’m afraid it’s too close to the Pegasus territory which means I’ll either have to stock up on the previous SL20 or find a new faster type shoe once my current SL20s wear out.
Curious on your guys thoughts. Would love input for anyone who has it. What do you use it for?
