That's certainly possible. But I don't know of too many viruses that lead to long-term mental problems or heart/lung damage, which both seem possible with Covid. That is why I counseled caution.

corrected tl;dr:
My cardiologist "informed me that COVID has complications such as very low heart rate, myocarditis and other heart/lung issues, [so I've been taking it very cautiously, including getting an ECG to rule out any serious problems]." Which seems like pretty good guidance here.
Now I get your logic.
Everyone but your group of fit friends should die because they aren't healthy.
But you know who will give it to those unfit people?
Your group! Because you're the ones breathing in and practically drinking each other's sweat.
I get it!

Glad you understand.
I pity you, living your life in fear, "dude".
It's not fear that drives these people, just the usual internet nastiness. Addictive endorphin cycle, gives them a brief rush, then they are let down quick (can't understand why they feel so bad!) and go looking for the next fix.
Usual internet nastiness= a really solid excuse as to why you shouldn't have to follow rules and mandates.
That's how you justify it.
I'm a real person with real regard for what I am say and the realization is that while you and your friends here may be individually decent guys, when you socialize with your buddies and/or colleagues here, you turn into some of the most vile, awful specimens of humankind on the planet with your disregard for people.
I don't care how nasty you think is.
I hope the OP has been enjoying his runs.
I hope the OP gets arrested for bioterrorism.
Cool.
Stop it Smith this is a running website but it seems like you enjoy spending most of your time on this site shaming people for being sick of the coronavirus restrictions. I am really unsure if you are even really a runner or if you just found this website and are now using it to spread your SJW causes. Most people on this site are very serious or former serious runners so it’s only natural for them to hate all of these coronavirus restrictions. Some have lost college seasons, major road races etc you get the point. I do not really see your passion for running in any of your posts, only passion for shaming others. Maybe Reddit is more your speed,
Failing to follow CDC guidelines on things like sodium intake does not risk the death of neighbors and other folks I run by. Slight difference there. I can't believe that people are arguing that it's ok to go out in public with a positive Covid test...no wonder we have over a quarter million people dead from this.

Actually you seem to get nothing. Nothing at all.

Is my SciEnCe not sciencey enough for you?
How bout
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02058-1"Other laboratory studies suggest that aerosols of SARS-CoV-2 remain infectious for longer than do aerosols of some related respiratory viruses. When researchers created aerosols of the new coronavirus, the aerosols remained infectious for at least 16 hours, and had greater infectivity than did those of the coronaviruses SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, which cause severe acute respiratory syndrome and Middle East respiratory syndrome, respectively"
Which science should we be following? Mine or the version of science you agree with?
The lab science is correct. It can remain airborne. But this is in a controlled environment, not outside where there substantial air movement. Subsequent research has indicated that it is unlikely to remain airborne outside for very long. This is why several states have regulations that allow outside dining and outside gyms but ban both inside.
Pardon me jerk? I have been part of this site for over six and a half years. I ran in high school and then got back into distance running 15 years ago. So for YOU to even PURPORT to suggest that I don't run because I believe in following regulations to a T because you and your beer drinking buddies want fun is an affront to any and all training and racing I have done. Jock mentality is crap. You can be serious about running and about virus safety too. I've posted about my racing and discussed it for years here. But I'm game. If you want the jock mentality, we can battle about this until the cows come home. I'm not sure you can keep up. Listen to the G*ddamn rules. And run when you're NOT sick and do whatever it takes to be GOOD. If you can't even be a good citizen, who the hell cares about your running. MIKE

It’s dramatic people like you that are ruining the sport for countless generations. Your liberal views and over reactions cost a lot of kids that could’ve been racing their final seasons. I have a lot of friends that missed their final season in the NCAA due to the corona virus cancellations. They could have been racing but liberal people like you are obsessed with shutting things down. You are the type of person that gets horny for blindly listening to authority. You probably never argued against anything in your entire life from an authority figure. If you’re married I bet you’re probably a submissive husband too. Some people are born leaders, but you are clearly not one.
Jerk, SOB, you are really charming, turd face.
I hope the OP has gone for a run and has taken a huge dump on your doorstep.
I have no requirement to be charming and I'll be damned if I'm going to condescend myself to kowtow to oeople's egos who can't even follow rules and guidelines.
Heck no.
Scrapping the season saved them from possible mass transmission of what was originally a potentially deadly strain of Covid from March to May.
Orders that protect safety guarantee that there can BE future generations.
Using your friends as evidence of why the rules don't work makes sense, but the nation is comprised of much more than your friends or people who run track, XC or road races. I've run over 60 races over the last several years from 5k to marathon and as much as I would like to, I know it's not prudent to do so.
We can't continue to be selfish Americans if we are going to end this thing.
We must FIRST be safe....
THEN have the luxuries.
And as I see it, Letsrun is posting almost weekly about someone having a great race. These people aren't racing WITH Covid.
So what exactly is the problem with following the rules again?
