mandatory contact tracing and isolation

extremely high mask compliance from early March
Irrelevant, as per WHO guidelines and all respiratory virus research up to 2020 (i.e. not politicized to meet the narrative) masks are ineffective. Like Fauci said, they make you feel better, but that's it.
Japan is simply a healthier, more homogenous population that quickly and effectively shut down their border (easy to do on an island nation; see Taiwan, NZ), and by treating this as no worse than a flu, gets the results you would expect.
These authoritarian lockdowns do little more than inhibit herd immunity development and kick the can down the road, with the virus resurging over and over. Without silly regulation, and emphasis on personal responsibility for improving health (mainly by diet, with some additional exercise and sun exposure) we would be done with this like so many other who didn't lockdown, like Japan, Sweden, Belarus, Taiwan, Hong Kong.
Why do you keep making stuff up? HK had strict "lockdowns," (mandatory work from home). Massive testing. Mandatory contact tracing and FORCED ISOLATED (they drag you to hotel if you are positive). Literally everything you rail against here...

maybe try using real sources for your info? you'll still be a clown but at least will look less like one.
Japan barely eats a third of the meat that the leading countries do.
get a grip buddy, you truly are losin' it.
https://www.businessinsider.com/where-do-people-eat-the-most-meat-2015-9Over a pound a day/person and 30-40% of the diet from animal meats (fish is an animal, sorry soibois) is not a "third of leading countries". Hong Kong, doing as well as Japan despite no lockdowns and a more urban population, consumes nearly two lbs/person/day.
Don't trip on your clown shoes on the way out.
He's not a fan of masks, but he sure does like his Whopper.

Maybe that is because Hong Kong handled the situation much better than the US did? Thailand definitely did a much better job at stopping the virus than the US.

Fish consumption is customarily its own category. I figured you would know that. That why to find 'studies' that shows Japan as a leading 'meat' eating country you have to resort to fringe carno sites and ignore everything that actual normal people read.
And did I see you try to claim that Japan DIDN'T have high mask compliance? hahahahahaah
have you ever left your own house?
People in Japan where masks for the common cold.
Your understanding of the world is shockingly low considering your age.

Glad someone else gets it. Instead of worthless lockdowns and masks, the CDC should declare war on processed crap food full of refined carbs and seed oils (this includes the disgusting fake meat enterprise). This would not only help against covid, but every other major metabolic disease incuding CHD, diabetes, cancer, stroke, dementia all of which are tied to poor diet, which in turn ties into poor activity levels.
Unfortunately, doing so would pit the government against Big Food, Big Ag and Big Pharma, who pocket trillions off of the slow-motion-suicide-by-diet they promote.
But if someone suggests a government agency should do something it would immediately be dismissed as socialism.
Same with 'Big Pharma' - how about we tackle it by introducing a universal healthcare system who would have a monopsony (either real or effective) over which drugs are used?
Exactly. If the CDC or whatever went ahead with forced dietary restrictions, there would be massive outcry about BiG gUVt and I'm sure YMMV would find a way to complain about it. If masks are seen as a barrier on "individual liberty", telling you what to eat might as well be fascism. Could you imagine if Big Gov tells you that you can't eat cookies and hamburgers.
Holy F*** you are hilarious ???? Hong Kong closed schools in JANUARY! Hong Kong imposed strict quarantine (forced isolation) from known contacts with cases and any travelers to the city on Feb 8th! Hong Kong had strict mask usage from early Feb! Hong Kong has widespread rapid testing, health checks in early Feb! Hong Kong reintroduced stricter work-from-home rules and commercial closures in JULY due to a small spike in cases! They did EVERYTHING they could to stop the virus EARLY and so yes, life went back to normal in April.... If you wanted the US to end up like HK you needed very aggressive measures EARLY.

Some of what was said was true and some of what was said was false. I know what I’m talking about because for the past five years I’ve been working in China in different cities and I can no longer go back since the pandemic started. They don’t want foreigners anymore and perhaps rightly so because China has shown us apparently that they can take care of COVID-19 in a very systematic, disciplined way by putting very strict lockdowns in place for a few months and then contact tracing and keeping up the Systematic verification of everyone every day everywhere.
However, now in the city in which I normally work in China, I have called Chinese colleagues there and everything is back to basically complete normality. There is some wearing of masks in buses etc. but everywhere else it is optional. If you go to a mall or any restaurant you take out your phone and you show your COVID-19 status - everybody has their COVID-19 status on their phone permanently and so that is the way they control people. I suppose you could say this is both good and bad but life in China right now ironically at least where I was working is much better than where I am now in the west, currently located in France.
Additionally, all the Asian countries mentioned had very strict lockdowns with strong government support (or requirements) of testing, contact tracing, and quarantining. With that start, they have been able to operate more normally without the huge spikes we see in the USA. Additionally, a stronger social safety net and universal healthcare allows people to stay home without worrying about losing health care or too much income.
Fish is flesh, covidiot. Science was obviously religiously-based in your schooling.
Japan has the same mask use compliance as New York, which has the highest death toll per capita. Masks are quaint tradition, and like Fauci said, are like a security blanket for your face, but have no bearing covid mortality.

Holy f*ck you are really f*cking stupid you useless moron. You would have never complied with the restrictions in Hong Kong or Japan.
Apparently having Trumps genitals in your mouth 24/7 makes you lose all reason or sense of care for your fellow man. I sincerely wish the worst upon you.
Here is a comment I recently read on Yahoo-Japan. (They still allow you to post your comment there.)
"I used to think the United States was the land of free. But now I see it as the land of selfish."
OP is a perfect example of someone who will be shunned as an egomaniacal narcissist in Japan. He will have no social life there because everyone will treat him like a pariah.
