It's called bonus money in Jerry's pocket. Everytime Jerry gets an Olympian he gets a bonus check.

Those times are already outdated if you got them off Wikipedia they are most likely incorrect. Like alot of things on that site.

Boonthung is gonna be pissed when Kieran pulls a bravey on his 5k/10k records.
The guy who should be most pissed is Akira Aizawa (JPN). Should be the Asian record holder for 10,000m, but instead has three Kenyans and an American ahead of him on the list.
“Pulled a Bravey” should heretofore be official LRC vernacular. I love it!

I honestly can’t see this guy running all that impressively. His only moderately impressive time is his 3:57, and some high schoolers can do that now a days. His 5k/10k are a joke for BTC
Well, to this poster’s credit he did get the “some high schoolers...” bit right.
Harvard grad Kieran Tuntivate of Thailand ran 27:17.14 for 5th, meaning a guy who came into the night with a 13:57.60 5000 pb ran the equivalent of two 13:38’s back-to-back and is now #4 all-time in Asian history.
HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA

Your criticism is off based. If Kieran had never lived in Thailand, I'd agree with you but he has lived there.
"Tuntivate was born in Washington, D.C., but moved to Thailand when he was about three and attended school there. He followed his older brother, Charon, who later attended Johns Hopkins, into sports, including running. His dad, Tig, who worked for the World Bank, and his mother, Mary, eventually moved the family to Delaware. His father had a friend, who was involved with the Thailand basketball federation and inquired about his son competing for Thailand in athletics."

3:57/7:49 at Harvard indicate that he'll be sub 13:10 at Bowerman before you know it.
This post did age well. Running 27:17 indicates that he'll be sub 13:10 this year or next. If you can run that fast at Harvard with not great teammates and a program that is not close to the best in the country, you have a lot of potential, and Bowerman has produced great results for almost everyone on the squad in the past few years.

Worst take of the year. Congrats. ?
FWIW it wasn't a take - it was a question. It seems like the answer is that he had a lot of untapped talent and his college PRs didn't indicate his future potential as well as it does with most other college runners. That was the type of info I was asking about (and fwiw no one offered it at the time).
Part of a coach's job in recruiting is to find that hidden, undertrained talent. 27:17 with such little time on the team suggests another take that no one has suggested yet: Tuntivate might actually be the most talented guy on the team.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
