Yes please tell me how they choose to be irrelevant and poor compared to a millionaire performing in front of millions. I think given the choose most people would pick being the NFL.

Devon Allen. Rashard Mendenhall. Pat Tillman. The list goes on and on. Nearly every world class sprinter is on the list.
Grant was better than LBJ at football.
And is better at a measurable athletic stat than LBJ.
He’s a more world class athlete than LBJ.
Sorry, but baseball, boxing, and hockey are all more difficult.

Exactly what I was going to say, I think he is World Class, and I also think if anyone thinks he is NOT World Class, they don't know what they are talking about.
Measure 26 feet 10 inches on the floor. Look at how far that is. Then say Grant isn't athletic.
Just adding more salt to the wound
Watch a football game and note what 10 yards is for 1st down. See the line 1 yard short of that? He can long jump that far.
Grant was not even close to as good as football as lebron. Lebron owns recruited by ND, Ohio State, etc. they stopped recruiting him because his coach told them he was going straight to the NBA and it was a waste of time. Also grant can only run fast in straight line. Also, tell me how jumping far helps you in any athletic competition? That is such a worthless skill in sports.
To be honest, if NFL players trained for sprinting I think some could be faster. Some like DK and hill are incredibly fast with pads. Imagine with a little training and reflex practice. They could probably be some of the best in the world.

The average length of an NFL player's career is 3.3 years, and their median income is $860k. (And that 3.3 yrs includes kickers and QB who have more longevity than WR.) So the expected lifetime income of an average player is less than $3 million.
Besides, you won't have to worry about CTE as a hurdler.

Hurdling is niche. Like pole vault. I'm never impressed by the world leaders in niche sports. Bobsledding? Lol.
How many people dedicate themselves to niche sports, 100? Like 50-500 people? Usually with wealthy families that enable their pursuit of the niche sport.
Great. you're the best out of a few hundred people. Good job.
In the scheme of things, American football is a niche sport...
If a guy with his accomplishments doesn’t meet your criteria for “world class”, then I don’t care to challenge your irreverent, irrelevant, and cherry picked criteria. I will find myself a nice glass of rye, however
The football player tweeting makes it sound like one of the fastest men in the world is not even in the same speed class as some of the fastest football players, lol. This perfectly symbolizes the disrespect that the world has for track and field and the disillusion that anyone "fast" could hop in and compete at the olympic level, lol. The reality is that Grant Holloway is one of the most athletic people in the sport of track and field, period. Fastest over objects, very fast without hurdles, elite long jumper, 400m runner, etc. He is clearly coordinated, as is shown with his many football scholarships and the fact that hurdling is not exactly for the unathletic. Also can we please dispel the notion that MJ was not a world class athlete? 48in vert, long jumped 23ft in 9th grade. He and LeBron are arguably two of the greatest athletes ever, but that also doesn't mean that to be world class one has to be in the conversation for greatest athlete ever. There is a difference between world-class athletes (which some elite track athletes are) and perhaps THE greatest athlete in the world. Sorry for jumping all over the place, lol
The old debate between an athlete and someone who is athletic. Went to school with the fastest kid in my state. Strong as hell, could run obviously, and could sky. He also played football which he sucked at. Never played. He played baseball and sucked at it. Played basketball for fun but was god awful.
My own personal opinion is he was athletic as hell but not an athlete at all. My some people use the words differently.
Holloway tho is a world class athlete. The problem is there are even better athletes than him in the NFL and NBA but they chose to make far more money and not run track.
You could take a group of the 20 best US athletes in pro sports and if you trained them in any singular discipline we would be the best in the world.
It’s unfair to say grant isn’t as good an athlete as LeBron, therefore he’s not a world class athlete. If you think lebron would have an easy job playing professionally in any other sport, you’re wrong. And this is coming from a guy who thinks LeBron is the goat. If we assign arbitrarily top 50 of any sports player at any given time as world class, I think LeBron would struggle to make that in anything other than basketball. He might have been able to do it in football if he took that route, but he didn’t. Grant is much younger and has lots of versatility and time to learn. I think he could compete in the NFL. Would he be top 50 in whatever position he plays? Who knows, but Grants speed is not a limiting factor. Put him on a team like the titans or the Vikings that have a potent rush offense and he could be a threat.
It's the truth when you talk about quickness, agility change of direction and explosiveness. Very few, (tyreek hill, Chris Johnson), can have legitimate track speed but still be able to stop and start on a dime. Holloway would get run by because it'd be to much stop and start. Now if he can just run in a straight line for 70 yards then yeah he wins that most of the time.
That's why the 40 yard dash times are so overrated. Straight line only speed is nothing.

He also High Jumped over 7 feet at age 16, and his blazing legs on the 4 x 400 makes me think he could be a threat to the 400 Hurdles World Record.

Not everyone would choose to have their brain cells knocked off every time they step on the field. Would they be happy doing something just for money? Money is obviously important and correlated to happiness, but up to a point.
Oh, and Grant is definitely a world-class athlete. The speed of Track sprinters is unrivalled off the track, no matter how many excuses you may try to find. Hell, you HAVE to be athletic to hurdle.
this troll nonsense is still going lol
lebreezy jimbo is an athleisurist. not an athlete.
reke was a sprinter and is obsessed with speed, not to mention gifted. but with a body like that he'd have a very hard time getting a single legal sub10, I'd put his max potential at ~9.95 and he's a man among boys in the hpd (handegg play division)
