Difficult to gain any knowledge about her fitness from this performance. She could run 2:20 or 2:30 in Valencia and neither result would surprise me. Hopefully it was just the conditions.

This is not the sub 2:25 Jordan.
She should be able to run 1:14 facetiming the whole way on a giant iPhone 12 pro max.
I predict dns or dnf. I am sorry and hope to be wrong.
What race did Jordan Hasay just run in Eugene and what was the distance and the time?

Agreed. An off day wouldn't be a big deal if she had lots of good results too, but she hasn't had a decent race in around 18 months... She's not back

Anyone knows if she has already finished?
Time will be a window in to see if 2.21.xx is possible for her in Valencia.
So 2.26 and outside the first 15 or a dnf.
74 something for a half- although she said she was aiming for 69. Said it was too cold at 43 degrees. Sounds like slightly cold but overall mostly good. Are we going to admit she’s a different athlete since leaving salad bar yet?

that picture alone is making me shiver.
When do we learn of her cancelled Valencia trip?
That half marathon course is becoming famous.
43 degrees is not cold. I know it’s relative and whatever, but cmon. Frankly, it’s kinda ideal, IMHO.

don't you have 20% body fat?
There was a big pro half race in Michigan a couple of weeks ago. Why not do that instead of trying to time trial alone in Oregon on a bike path? Would have had plenty of people to run with. I guess travel is one answer since it was said that she took the train but she's going to need to fly to Valencia. Our sport does not make it easy to be a fan.
They have these things called outer clothes Jordan should ask Nike for some.
She has all the underwear she needs.
Seems like she should pack it in for 2020 and start preparing for 2021.
With no body fat on her, if the conditions were overcast and/or windy, I could see this being a slightly tougher day for her.
If she is in great shape, then a 74 minute half is really a nice tuneup for her and hopefully means her legs won't feel as zapped for the marathon in 4 weeks.

I guess that's really looking at the glass as half full. You run 5 min slower in a half than you wanted, but your legs shouldn't be as tired lol. This is no where near where she would need to be to be close to her 2:20 pr.
She had another quote saying in marathon training she just doesn't have the turnover for a half, but lungs felt good and she could have keep going and did a marathon. That's great but if she kept going she would have been at 2:28 which for her is not good or competitive with today's top women. I always liked Jordan, but for now it looks like injuries have just set her back too much in the last couple of years. Look at Ryan Hall, he had it until he didn't.
This is more than enough clothing for a Half Marathon in 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
My take: Given her recent posts in lifting PRs this just seems like a normal and totally solid "base training" race result. She got the strength, she got the stamina, but the race specific fitness and final pop is lacking a little bit. Which again, is totally fine since there is no major competition in sight.
A little more worrying: Why do have to be in single digit body fat territory for such a point in the seasons/training cycle, especially given the weather conditions. A little more lard (talking max 5 lbs) will do you more favor than harm gurl!
To be fair, she's relatively new to running and racing especially in that part of the country at this time of year and therefore she'd have little context for figuring out her ideal apparel coverage for the race. Plus, it's tough for poor, blue collar runners like her to afford much nice apparel to have multiple options.
It would not surprise me at all if Alberto was giving Hasay creams/supplements that were illegal without her knowing. I predict a slow and steady decline to irrelevance. Alberto is a creep

What are you talking about? She's running the Valencia marathon next month - December 6th.
This race was a disaster. 74 minutes for a 2:20 marathoner is not good.
Particularly when the goal was 69 minutes.
https://twitter.com/slorgebutler/status/1325921652685725697Now. I used to hate to workout in cold weather without tights. I doubt they'd have her do it if her other workouts didn't indicate good fitness but to run 25 seconds per mile off of her goal pace isn't a good result.
