Reminds me of a story my college coach told me about a stud all-american Irish CC runner on his team. During summer, he ran 10 miles a day, every day on the same loop/course. At the end of each run he would mark his finish position and his goal was to run a bit farther the next day. No speedwork, no long runs or short runs, no easy days and no days off. 10 miles a day, every day, all summer. BS? Maybe some of it. Different? Definitely.
Farther = faster. Hard to run farther than 10 miles when all you're running is ... 10 miles. Oops.
I found your experiment interesting. I think by posting you found that a lot of commentators "know" the "right" way to train. Many of them have never tested themselves like you just did. If you want I will send you some information. Contact me at myterycoach at gmail dot com
