Baseball should be doing the common sense thing with daily Rapid tests with a PCR test every 2-3 days (1 day turnaround). For a positive Rapid test, do a special PCR to confirm.

One legitimate beef was that with the short season and with gaps between games in the postseason, teams like the Rays were able to run out their relievers fresh for a lot more innings per game than usually possible. Of course, this was a biased Scott Boras who dislikes the Rays because they go everything on the cheap and don't sign his expensive free agents or draft picks, and who also wrongly advocated a neutral site World Series. But the circumstances did change the game.

This is peak America. Baseball and a dude with a deadly communicable disease not understood and team responsibility around out fairly slight.
I get these players want to take risks and it's the last game of the year etc. But it's so silly that he would even be allowed to play with an inconclusive test. Also wasn't he in a bubble?
And coming back on the field in celebration with no mask is definitely peak America. I'm surprised he didn't have two revolvers to shoot up in the air going yee haw.
Oh please. You're just mad because it's exposing how big of a joke COVID is for anyone under 90 and isn't a diabetic overweight slob.

Too funny. You ever listen to the LetsRun podcast? The Brojos can't make a coherent thought into a sentence without stumbling over every word.

Wow really?
LMAO.

This site is just endless entertainment.
I didn't even realize the season had continued. I stopped watching when they started walking out.
The season was over when the Dodgers won. Technically speaking, the team was free from the MLB COVID bubble restrictions and could do whatever they wanted once the game was over. The whole point of the restrictions was to be able to get through the season without having a COVID outbreak sideline teams and ruin the schedule. Once the MLB achieved that goal, it is no longer up to them to police how the players behave during celebrations and the off season.
Of course, it was a pretty big dick move to come out without a mask and potentially be infecting other players. But Turner's actions are pretty emblematic of the US response to the virus. We are all willing to do what is necessary up until it means making personal sacrifices. Then, we crow about "freedoms" and ignore the implications of our actions on the wider community.

Ok. I've found some info on the Covid test. It still seems weird to me that they are testing them at 8 pm at night. What type of test are they doing? I got my son a covid test today and we had the results within 20 minutes. Now the rapid tests aren't as acccurate .
https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/1321303445136171008Why wouldn't you be testing them at night? Why would you want your expensive machines just sitting around doing nothing when you could be making money with them? The only shocking part to me is that baseball didn't pay to go to the head of the line....
There is no way that the test was not done before the 8th inning.
He tests inconclusive on Monday. He should have been isolated and retested then.
They absolutely had the information before the game.
Either the Dodgers hid the test and let him play - CHEATERS.
Or, MLB hid the test and let him play - FIX.
Interestingly though, if it had been reported, according to the rules in place, neither team could play with the current roster, and they BOTH would have had to use the reserve players they were holding all season.

There actually were less off days than normal in the postseason. I noticed it as I like that. I hate how postseason is how you can get by with 2-3 decent starters as there are so many off days.
But this year you had the rosters expanded to 28 instead of 25 so it makes it easier to get by with bullpen arms.
