Just as expected. What a joke.
Kilian keeps getting dusted by Norwegians that nobody ever heard of. He should stick to what he does best - instagram posts about "world record" training runs that no one witnesses, times or measures.

He didn't really get dusted by former Norwegian 1500m champion Filip Ingebrigtsen. He's not getting "dusted" by nobodies today either - the competitors still in the race are all on track to break the Norwegian national record for the 24h-race

Your profile says "break 16". It's not competitive on even a regional stage anywhere. Unless you are a superhuman that has broken every world record already, your performance isn't anything special. Five of the six guys in this race are still ahead of a national record for a 24h race.
Just shut up.
I think it would be better if you shut up, thanks.

Let’s see where Håkansson ends, still 11km ahead?
Between 100 and 130 km (14 miles), Hakansson lost 16 minutes to Kouros. Not only he is behind record pace but he is slowing down drastically. I expect him to drop out at 100 miles.
Just as you predicted
Mad props to Hakkanson. What he did was amazing considering he did not train specifically for this race. In the interview he said he only knew about it 3 weeks ago.
He apparently broke both the 12-hour and 100-mile record in the progress of this run. Mad props indeed!

Not nobodies, but bodies nobody ever heard of. As opposed to KJ the GOAT who never missed a chance to make sure everybody has heard of him. Just another day for KJ the GOAT to get beaten down by a bunch of unheralded Norwegian club-level runners.

Every other runner went further than he did. He came in dead last of all entered.
I'm not really much for the hate on Killian here, but it seemed pretty ballsy to attempt this in minus degrees Norway in November. Props to the Hakansson guy.
I just came back here to see all the cockroaches slither out of the woodwork when a famous runner doesn't win a race or break a record.
Never disappointed!!!

Nobody is but it must make the cockroaches feel better about their pathetic lives for a couple minutes.
Killian is a great runner!
Killian had not raced a flat long one like this and Kouros spent most of his career doing just that. To think Killian was going to beat this record in his first go seems to ignore the strength of the record and the different physiology used in mountain running versus flat running. If Killian spends a few years chasing this sort of thing the potential is there, but does anyone think a person can leave the mountains to set world records on the flats instantly? Come on, they are nearly two different sports in this situation.
Why does every thread here about every runner on the face of the earth have to be so toxic? Killian and Kouros both were/are unreal at what they specialize in (both accused of cheating in their first high profile wins because of how unreal it was lol). Killian tried to do something outside of that mountain ultra specialty and failed miserably. Some of these comments make me wonder if some of you have ever gone for a run in your lives. From how Killian should be able to destroy the record because 'how much easier is it to just run on flat ground?' or how bekele could obviously run at 2:20 marathon pace for 24 hours straight if he bothered to try, it's all pathetic.
In terms of competitiveness:
1. Distances up to and including marathon
...
Very big gap
....
2. Ultras on the "flat"
....
Big gap
.....
3. Mountain running
....
4. Tiddlywinks
Jornet is clearly great at tier 3. But its a big challenge to excel at tier 2, a bigger challenge than any he's faced.

Didrik Hermansen was runner-up in Western States in 2016, and has won the Transgrancanaria. While some track trolls on here may pretend to not have heard of him, he's a pretty solid ultrarunner.

No he didn't. Report was that he was getting dizzy and throwing up.
Even 5 hours into the stream, you could see him favoring one leg. Couple that with his stop at 9:17 to nearly puke up his Maurten gels...the whole thing was a bust.
Is it possible to sustain ITB injury from this repetitive type of track running? (even with the changes of direction )
