I don't think this is a Boomer vs Millennial issue. It's more like the rest of the student population no longer wants to fund the expensive hobbies of mostly white rich boys.

Thank you. This was exactly my point. People are losing their businesses and jobs. As hurtful as it is I think you have to be realistic about no longer having the funds for a sport that does not make any money but just takes money. These girls and boys need to realize this.

What sport at W & M makes money?

You really are stupid. The WM men’s and women’s team does not need money. That is not why they are being cut. They have the resources to be completely self-funded. The men’s team was cut because of title 9 to make the school achieve “proportionality” between the student athlete population and the general population.
Also don’t say the other students are sick of paying for the track teams because they aren’t because the teams have deep pockets of their own and because most of the students are upset that the former AD and president broke the prestigious honor code as well as their original vision to make WM a football and basketball focused school. The faculty and the students do not like that idea because they understand that people come to WM to get a good education AND compete and it has never been a place to try to breed NFL/NBA players and the general student body has clearly expressed they do not want the school to be like that never mind that it isn’t an efficient way to run the athletic department of a mid major FCS school.
If you don’t know what you are talking about don’t talk about. You clearly don’t know what the student population at WM wants so don’t make up lies.
Prior to the reductions, a minimum cumulative athletic department shortfall of nearly $10 million was forecast over the next three years — $3.29 million in 2021, $3.22 million in 2022 and $3.2 million in 2023. The athletic department calculated the budget to support the discontinued sports on a nationally competitive varsity level would be $5.84 million annually, requiring an immediate endowment of $150 million.
you nothing but a liberal cheerleader. Look closer at the decision.
