Probably not a coincidence that they’re adding American born runners that can represent other countries.
I guess the news below is outdated
“The 2019-2020 academic calendar was a breakout year for Tuntivate who emerged as one of the top collegiate distance runners in the country. The former Harvard runner led the Crimson cross country team to a national qualifying spot at the 2019 NCAA XC Championships and went on to finish 28th at the national meet.
On the indoor oval, Tuntivate was electric. He ran a massive PR of 3:57 for the mile and also threw down an impressive mark of 7:49 for 3000 meters. On the outdoor oval, he was able to secure personal bests of 13:57 (5k) and 28:45 (10k).
Tuntivate will leave the Ivy League with a total of five conference titles between cross country and indoor track.
Despite having only outdoor track eligibility remaining, Tuntivate will be an outstanding addition to the Longhorns' roster. The current Texas roster has a handful of young and promising distance talents. Adding an experienced and accomplished runner like Tuntivate could help further unlock the true potential of Coach Pete Watson's team.
It also doesn't hurt that Tuntivate will likely be gunning for his first All-American honors on the track in the spring of 2021. Whether that's in the 1500 meters, 5000 meters or 10,000 meters is yet to be seen, but you can bet that Texas' newest star will be making some noise on the national stage next year.”
I’m guessing he has one Thai parent and is a dual national US and Thailand. He has competed in the Southeast Asian games and I think he won a few titles for Thailand during the sea games. Not difficult to gain selection for Thailand because in Thailand if you can run under 16 minutes for 5000 and under 33 minutes for 10,000 m you are considered a superstar. Having said that, training in the hot humid climate that Thailand presents is no laughing matter.

Boonthung is gonna be pissed when Kieran pulls a bravey on his 5k/10k records.
Tony Ah-Thit Payne is also a "luk krung" like Kieran Tuntivate except Tony's mother is Thai and his father is from New Zealand. Kieran's mother is American and his father is Thai.

Srisung’s records date back to many years ago so I don’t think he will be so pissed, in addition guys like threesome will laugh about the half falang Thais stealing their records so it doesn’t really make that much difference.

Big respect for Boonthung being able to run those times above, 1410 and 2929 are very respectable times for someone having to train in hot and humid Thailand year round in hardly ideal conditions.

Can confirm that this is true. Watch this space, I expect Kieran to run some incredibly impressive times under Jerry. Props to him.
I honestly can’t see this guy running all that impressively. His only moderately impressive time is his 3:57, and some high schoolers can do that now a days. His 5k/10k are a joke for BTC

I'm sure that studying at Harvard has an impact on running performance - look at how Grant Fisher got to 13:10 and 3:36 after becoming a pro runner. He ran 13:29 and 3:39 while studying at Stanford. Not saying that Tuntivate will become as quick as Fisher, but running in a pro group and living a lifestyle 100% focused on running after balancing intense academics with running will probably get him some good results.
Also, his 7:49 i3k is worth a 13:18 going by IAAF points, so I'd say his 5k PR is just weak and he can do much better.

Which “high schoolers have done that these days”?
Alan Webb, Jim ryun, and Drew Hunter?

Please list all US high schoolers all time who have hit 3:57.
3:57/7:49 at Harvard indicate that he'll be sub 13:10 at Bowerman before you know it.
holy heck what is this take i genuinely think u misplaced ur brain. Kieran is gunna b an absolute monster, has a legitimate shot at breaking 3:50 and 13 and could easily move up to the marathon later in his career and go under 2:10. stop ur capping and replace ur poop brain bro.
ok tooth go back to instagram rants
I saw him on their Instagram page and was surprised to see his TFRRS page wasn’t more impressive. 3:57 and 7:49 are obviously great times, but not tops in the country like other Bowerman members.
What am I missing?
Guy can win races as well as has top times. He’s won ivy leagues races multiple times (most notably when he won with only one shoe) and he’s also won the Roy Griak XC meet. Tuntivate is also pretty consistent in the fact that he can run sub 4 pretty consistently now and put out fast times in other events on a consistent basis as well. He also represents Taiwan I believe in international races so as long as he can hit the times he’s almost guaranteed a spot at the world championships. He also won’t be stepping on any other btc members at US championships
Thailand?
