Today, zero reps of 225 pound bench press. Up until five or six years ago, one or two reps of 225 pounds.
My max is 405, 225 x 17, all done when I weighed 185 at 28 yearsold, lifting every day, was hardly doing any running, definitely not racing. Back down to 150 at 53, can go touch 18 at a 5k, still do a ton of push-ups, but 225 at max reps would probably just result in 1 rep and a torn labrum. Max reps something you definitely need to train for.
