JS, Slava says you must run lots of hills, am I correct in thinking that you don't think hills are necessary?

Who is the coach, me or Slava? : ))
Well........according to my coaching during now 5 years of Kenyan and South African cross-country winners there is only need for hill-reps if preparing for a special hilly cross-country or road race . To run the fastest you can at flat surface is mainly a question of the 3 most important factors, the maxVO2 pace, the lactate threshold pace and the so called aerobic power pace ( Long Steady Distance). Doesn`t matter how strong you are at hills if you don`t have what it takes when it comes to the cardio vascular system.

As you probably see I never "ask" for faster paces from my runner in training than what the runners shape and hartrate tells me is perfect. This way there is minimal chance of injury and overdoing. This is the smart way to train individual optimized.

Again, copy-paste from the real great coaches

No! You don`t understand my system. It`s no copy and paste.
In every known great training system up to our days there has been the three main factors for the best results. What I have done is to mix what I think is the very best parts from Lydiard, Daniels , Canova , Stampfl and Gerschler`s systems in a very smart way that gives optimum results , often in very short time, on relatively low mileage and weekly total training time.Added to this I have also put in my own best ideas that contribute to the magically results.

Kipchoge is coached by Patrick Sang and they use a system that is very close to mine except more mileage . No hill reps in any training example I have seen from his training. Sang just prepared Kamworor for the special hard hill in the World XC Champs in Denmark 2019.

Hate is a strong word. I don't hate Jan. Not at all. But he has lied a lot on LRC.

Why you as a hater use so many different handles her?.Of course we see you are only one person( and not a native English spoken person like me) that accuse me to be a liar.I have never lied here on the boards, and that is 100% true.

So, you write fiction then?

Why do you use so many Jan? Burrito Maklin is yet another one
Therefore, as you are a user of many handles, you also are a hater to!

You have a very strange logic. And that Burrito Maklin is absolutely not me. You just guess alot
both when it comes to different handles and your statements.
