Sorry that happened. It is a shame, and you should allow yourself to grieve for that missed opportunity. Just don't dwell and become bitter. You have much more to accomplish, athletically and otherwise. You can keep training with the goal of turning professional. Maybe in a year you will have decided on a completely new path, and that's ok, too. You're young--explore your options.
Some perspective: Young men went off to war in Vietnam, WWII, etc. before they had even graduated from high school. Many never returned. Never take for granted your health and that you at least have today. It's all we have. Go write down some goals and get to work on making them happen. Look forward, not backward. Good luck to you.
