After 40 years, most people were catching on that "trickle down" economics and "prosperity gospel" were outright grifts that preyed upon the gullible. The power elite needed something new, I suppose?

Do I ever wonder if socially-isolated software engineers are the ones who REALLY know what's going on in the larger world?
Nope.

Could you expand on your outdated insult?
Mods: "This homophobic slur is just veiled enough for us to leave it up. Geez, thanks Obama."

Thanks for posting the video.
No doubt

No. But it sure would be a bold strategy to destroy an entire state budget as a "test".
You may have noticed that the richest billionaires have done very well during the lock-downs.
And think of all the businesses and properties the rich are going to get for pennies on the dollar.
And how our freedom of assembly and free speech rights have been gutted.

hahahahaha ?
Yeah, history is filled with all those lovely autocratic societies that flourished. Probably expected from someone with a handle of Precious.

Serious question
there are much easier ways to test this. Look at Trump's polling numbers for example. He's only dropped a few percentage points since election despite his term in office being a flaming dumpster fire and him blatantly lying and distorting the facts at every term. Why would we need more evidence than this? The fact that large portions of our population still think this is all some global hoax to discredit Donald Trump tells you all you need to know.
Why on earth would there need to run a 180+ country conspiracy that has decimated economies and cost lives to test this theory when it can be shown in a tweet? the president tweeted out a "White Power!" video and it barely even phased his support. So either 40% of the US is completely comfortable supporting a white supremacist President, or are completely guiliable and complacent and will go along with whatever he says. Choose your split.

says someone who has hardly spent any extended time outside of his own country. I mean really, what is the basis for you laughter?....you have no experience to speak from.
I voted “nope” but my comment was deleted.
Seems odd.
Let me try again: Nope.

You guys know that jamin never engages in discussion right? He starts threads and then sits and watches. "hahahahaha" is a lot more than his usual followup, which is nothing, but still a nothing.
No point in replying to him.
This sure is a unique pandemic- isolated to certain areas and certain demographics.
As an aside as far as deaths as a percentage of total populations where does this one rate in the 24 pandemics listed since the year 350? Which one rates 24th?
What year did the WHO change it's definition of "pandemic?"

Shhhh- you're losing focus here. Gotta keep our eyes on the other hand.
Who are "They"?
Jam, this whole dance of "trolling" just to get people to respond is quite sad to me.
If you are creating these threads so you can smugly sit back and enjoy how successfully you've fueled the discussion you want to hear, you can stop. You are pouring the same gasoline on the same, ever-dwindling fire every day. The same posters respond every time.
You are not a master social media manipulator, you are a sad man who gets their kicks from making 60+ year old men get all frothy and post under multiple aliases. That is a pathetic dynamic all the way around. Always disgusting to open one of your threads for this reason. I just wanted to make it clear that we see you.

What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
BREAKING: Leonard Korir not going to Paris! 11 Universality athletes get in ahead of him!
Hicham El Guerrouj is back baby! Runs Community Mile in Oxford
Do "running influencers" harm the competitive nature of the sport?
Why's it cost every household $5000 in taxes just to run a public school?
