John Lester may break 4 next year. He is probably the top mid d guy but any 4:06 junior has to be listed as a top distance guy also.

to be honest this list is mostly geared toward cross country. On the track, Lester is definitely the top dog.

Then they are not top recruits. Any D1 coach will tell you that they base most of their decisions on track times unless you finish top 10 at footlocker.

This list is 90% top returners for nxn and footlocker and 10% guys that would most likely qualify this year.

if you qualify for any of the two national meets you are definitely d1 material

There are a few 9:35 guys who sneak through to NXN every year. A guy in our conference qualified and got walk-on offers from some mid level D1 schools and no scholarship offers. No top 20 type team even allowed him to walk-on.

Tierney Wolfgram graduated early and is going to University of Nevada - Reno.

NCAA running won’t exist in 2021 if there isn’t a college football season. So this thread really doesn’t matter.

Jackson Barra went sub 9:00 this year and was an NXN qualifier.

I’d guess that all 3 Utah guys (Thompson, Thompson, Mortenson) go BYU as is standard for Utah guys.

forgot about Darius Kipyego and John Lester. Both might arguably be better than everyone you just mentioned.

Big name schools are gonna look at 9:10 3200, 4:15 1600 and 1:53 800 guys and value them like a 9:00, 4:10 and 1:51 cause running those times in the class of 2021 currently puts you in the top 20 or so in the country obviously due to having no track season.

I’d assume out of the girls group, at least, the Wisco/minn girls will probably be recruited heavily by badgers&gophers and wind up there. Why wouldn’t they go? Good programs, great coaches, especially Wisco’s new women’s coach. Had a great first year with the badgers NCAA finish. Plus minnesota was looking at a phenomenal year had the season not gotten canceled. In state tuition makes it a better deal as well. Close to home.
