Some of the comments on here are ridiculous and so myopic. Most people posting on here or viewing these message boards would give just about anything to run in the Olympics (or World Championships), and if they had an opportunity to do it representing a different country (of their birth, or of their parents' nationality/birth), I completely understand that.
Trying to keep your head above water financially as a pro track runner is very hard, but there are substantial financial benefits written into many athletes' contracts for making World/Olympic teams and bettering national records.
What folks should be doing is applauding Edose's perseverance and commitment, and that of District Track Club.
And just so I can nip this in the bud on the front end, if/when it comes up, Alex Amankwah was born in Ghana, and Quamel Prince was born in Guyana and lived there until her was about 10.
Look for all three of these guys, and their teammates, to set the track alight in Nashville on August 15th.
