Coffee is the most important source of antioxidants in a western diet. Interestingly tea also is a good source, if you prefer this as your caffeine drink.

Yeah, I want to know how much the OP is drinking here. If the answer is not “multiple pots” I don’t see a problem. Also, half-Caf is a good way to go. My usual is to mix regular/decaf beans of the same roast half and half before I grind. I like just having something hot and delicious to sip all morning, and the 50/50 blend lets me do it without getting the caffeine shakes or GI issues.
Also, do stop before noon. Sleep effects of caffeine are real, and if you’re depressed, that can be a real bad combo.
Yeah I think the sleep disrupting effects of coffee are understated. For me personally, if I abstain 2+ days I sleep like a rock and feel amazing.

Throw out all your coffee and your coffee maker and you're off to the races.
I tried to give up coffee just for the hell of it one time, and it soon felt like someone was squeezing my head in a vice. Taper!
I guess you must have been pounding a pot of coffee a day cause that's insane!!
It's not nearly as addictive as nicotine or hard drugs. You must have been going to town on that coffee!

I had that happen in college after quitting a two-thermos-a-day habit (probably the equivalent of four cups).
Then again, it could’ve just been hangovers....

Kenyan life expectancy: 65 years. I would have one year left lol.
Actually I tried eating just like a Kenyan runner (yes, tons of ugali and sugary tea) all through my 20s and was in and out of the hospital by the end of that tragic decade. No way I would have made to today, much less in the best health and overall fitness of my life as I currently am.
Right, because mortality and life expectancy is ONLY related to diet and nothing else. Sheesh, for a 64 year old you are being shockingly obtuse.
Moderation is the way: Cutting out carbs seems foolish, as does cutting out any food groups from your diet.

Unfortunately that changed after kids. Now I have it on an IV drip.

hahaha IV drip, that's a good one! what's your favorite kind of coffee?
Plain black coffee is good for you. Kings, sultans, and bureaucrats have tried to prove otherwise for centuries and failed.

Sumatra pour-over every morning (black). I drank enough gallons of Folgers out of a dirty pot on a warship, though, so I don’t discriminate and won’t turn down anything decent.
I have to go to Italy a lot for work, and when I’m there, the favorite would be cafe nocciolo (basically espresso poured over hazelnut butter).
Hello everyone, I believe that coffee cannot be addictive, and if it does, it doesn't matter. Before, I also drank coffee every day, but I prefer natural coffee, which needs to be brewed, and this takes a lot of time. Now I use a coffee maker with combo brewers, which I learned about at https://www.friedcoffee.com/dual-coffee-maker/, it is very convenient and fast, which saves a lot of time. Since then, when I started using the coffee maker, my addiction to coffee has significantly decreased, I don't even know what the reason is. It turns out that the faster you make coffee, the less you want to drink it.
Green tea is awesome. Less caffeine, doesn't make my heart palpate. Also a natural source of fluoride, so good for your teeth, and magnesium.
I find that even a tiny amount of caffeine means you have no issues, so just go from however much you're drinking to one cup a day immediately. After a few days cut it to half a cup. After a few more days cut it to a quarter of a cup and then stop.
It's no secret that caffeine excites the nervous system when we're awake. It can also do this during sleep, if taken in increased doses. With the complete exclusion of the drink from your menu, the body will not be overexcited, which in turn will affect sleep. Secondly, you will get better sleep, which will make it easier to get up in the morning. And as a bonus-you will simply look more rested, without black eyes. I refused coffee for two reasons: I wanted to buy a coffee machine, but it is expensive for me. Secondly, I didn't know how to clean a cuisine coffee maker, which I really wanted to buy. So far, I'm not refusing coffee, but thinking about buying it.

First of all, you aren't "addicted" to coffee. If you want to drink less, then drink less. FFS, this is pathetic.
You're rude or are you just retarded? Are you saying there zero physical dependence with caffeine?
