What's written on the BLM mission statement can be interpreted as "BLM wants to create a system that supports those who do not have the nuclear family available so the nuclear family is not a requirement for success and happiness." This would be an admirable pursuit. Unfortunately, this is projecting what you want them to believe and not what they actually. They have clarified this and you can find examples of interviews with the founders. They do not like the traditional western family structure and want to move away from it. You have to judge the group by what their actual goals are and not what you want their goals to be.
