Trump can't jump a shark. He barely could jump a pornstar.
Trump can't jump a shark. He barely could jump a pornstar.
I'm glad you recognized I'm explaining things as I would to a child.
Is Trump objectively dumb for a President? yes
Is Trump objectively racist? yes
Is tweeting"White Power" the act of a dumb racist President? yes.
There's your Razor.
Everything else you're doing is adding unnecessary complications to the most likely scenario.
Trump has given us no reason to believe any of the far less likely scenarios, so why would we?
His past has given us many reasons to believe he would tweet that on purpose though. Why would we doubt that he did?

Salazar's appeal is happening in November. I believe he pushed the envelope / grey area but do not believe he deserved a 4 year ban. Depending on the outcome of the appeal, I probably will be forced to agree with you. However, if he wins the appeal, then that shows that he is not as scumbag as people claim.
Trump's communication style can be considered scumbag, as you put it. I always separate the political debates between personal attacks and policy commentary. Politics, should be about discussing policy, not about people's personal life or even their opinions for that matter. It's the policies they pass or veto is what affects us as citizens.

Also, that is great that you remembered my position on Salazar and Rupp. That must mean that my messaging is memorable. Most of the time our comments get lost or forgotten in the sea of new threads and new conversations.

I'm prepared mentally if trump loses in November. However, this begs the question: are you prepared for when he is re-elected? Threads like these, articles like these, comments like these demonstrate that people are not ready for 4 more years!
Why are you going to vote for a White Supremacist?
How can you prove that Trump is a White Supremacist?
Like I thought that a White Supremacist was someone who actually commits violence - real violence. To my knowledge, Trump has never physically assaulted someone as a hate crime. Nor has he ordered troops to kill people like some leaders in the 20th century.
On a more serious note, I agree with you that that video was anxiety-producing on multiple levels, that people were so angry with each other. and yelling at each other.
My interpretation was that the old guy in the golf cart was mouthing that phrase to get a rise out of the other protesters.
The thing that is hard for me to understand is how if the roles were reversed in terms of Obama being president and him tweeting a video of people chanting black power, ALL the dems and liberals would be supporting it and completely agreeing. And do give me the bs about how it is different because of the power dynamic based on one's skin color. Either way someone saying "x-color power" is essentially saying MY COLOR WANTS CONTROL OVER THE OTHER COLORS.
This is not to say that I support Trump or anyone chanting white power.. but the point is that there is a double standard going on and you need to start giving equal blame for BLM if they start chantin Black power as well.
This country should be fighting for EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY not EQUALITY OF OUTCOME aka marxism

This comment is particularly explanatory. No, white supremacy is just the belief whites are superior and/or should have a state without other races in it. It isn't a crime to think or want this. If you're violence and/or propose violence then that's when it becomes a crime.
Question is, do you want a white supremacist in office regardless of whether he's a violent one?
Trump isn't just a race baiter, he is the Race Master-Baiter.

uhhhhhh.....he just tweeted out a guy yelling "White Power" to the entire world.
you don't to use the 'well prove it' argument anymore because the Trumokin just blew that out of the water. He just proved it.

ok so you don't know how words work. glad that's settled. They have widely accepted meanings and you can't just make up on your own as you go to fit the narrative in your head you want to support.
I'd look into the purchase of a dictionary before engaging in much more debate.
You just did the equivalent of this:
"Can apples bite you?"
You: "YeS!!! look at all 'dem teeth!!!
"uhhh.....wut"
You: "Well I always thought of an apple as an alligator."
"I see. well that is not the case. an apple is not an alligator.
You: "Well I stand by my case. look at Dem teeth!!! Look out....hur comes a Potatooe!!"

There isn't a double-standard. Black power is a reaction as blacks identify with each because of history of discrimination.
White power is about celebrating domination. It's like the Straight Pride Parade in Boston. There's never been discrimination against heterosexuals so the point is to remind the LGBT community that they're the minority.
...also, Hypocrisy's hypothetical scenario is something that would never occur. Total bs.

He never did that though. Strange.

great post. +1
It's not a great post because Obama never did that. You only have to concoct fantasy scenarios when your arguments fall flat in reality.
Ok, good, now we are getting somewhere: "No, white supremacy is just the belief whites are superior and/or should have a state without other races in it."
So that is the definition we can agree on. And discuss. I started with an extreme definition and you and fasciz and Shark Jumper told me that the real white supremacist definition is closer to a belief. 1.) You admit that trump does NOT fit the extreme definition. So he's not a white supremacist by action and physical violence and by rule of power. 2.) your watered down definition of people's belief still does not fit Trump's policies. Trump has not instated any policies that would remove 100% of other races from living in the U.S.A. In fact, last I checked, America ranks #1 in terms of ACCEPTING with open arms legal immigrants:
https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/highest-immigrant-population-in-the-world.htmlThat fact should be celebrated. Name 1 country that is more open to different cultures and peoples living here. You can't. Trump is NOT proposing policies that would try and get rid of all non-white people. I can't believe I have to write a simple statement like that, but the true version of reality has to be voiced, otherwise we all will only hear one point of view.
There are no bills on the house floor or senate that propose to have a white-only state.
3.) Trump condemned the killing of George Floyd. Moreover, he supported that officer's firing and murder charge. By your definition above, Trump is NOT a white supremacist. We all are in agreement that that particular case was use of excessive force. We all agree that justice needs to be served when there is an abuse of power.
4.) even if you pretentiously retort: "well, he still believes that whites are superior in his mind" that is also not true. Trump has never explicitly stated that belief. Reposting a video that has one dude's defensive phrasing does not prove a belief in his mind. The fact that he took the video down shows that he doesn't agree with it. If he kept it up and doubled down like he usually does, then yea, you might have a point.

The Black Power movement has widely been a movement pushing for full equality. You might not agree with all their views or methods and there have certainly been extremists in their ranks that have exercised questionable methods, but Black Power originated as push for equality, not superiority. Therein lies a clear difference.
The 'White Power' slogan has been almost universally used to imply white superiority,
Black Power slogan came to national prominence in the 1960's when used by the Meredith March Against Fear. This peaceful march organized by James Meredith was a push for civil rights, not against them. It was mainly a drive to get black men to exercise their right to vote in face of continued resistance in the South.
Police tear-gassed the march and a white supremacist shot march organizer and Black Power slogan populizer, James Meredith, three times with a shotgun.
You might want to change your name to "Logic_Proof"......good lord that is a big pile of senseless manure you just dropped there. No sense wading through that entire mess, because it's all self-evidently false. No sane person would buy a lick of it.
I especially like you calling the actual dictionary definition of white supracist...the 'watered down' version.
When forced to deal with reality and strip down all the delusional interpretation you've attached to things and actually try to converse and argue using words according to their actual definitions you call that 'watered down'. lol
Need I say any more???
You had absolutely no idea what the term meant but you insisted the President wasn't it. lol. How can you deny someone is something when you don't even understand the word? ? ? hilarious. It's very telling to see the intelligence levels of the people still supporting Trump.
PS..... Canada is more open and welcoming to immigrants than we are. Didn't have to look too far for that example, yet you missed it. Not surprising, since using actual reality as the basis for your beliefs would be too 'watered down' to you. lol
I don't really understand what you're trying to achieve with this post. I don't care if he's an extreme or a mild supremacist.
I don't think Trump is a Neo-Nazi but it's clear white supremacist and alt-right groups back him. There's a reason they think they have an ally in him and that's because he's there to shift the Overton window towards them. This isn't the first time he's posted something like this. If he isn't at least sympathetic to white supremacy then he's dumb for being used in this way.
Are you claiming that Trump is an apple? I agree with you that apples are innocuous compared to alligators, and I'm glad that Trump is not an alligator. If he's just an apple, and you don't like apples, then vote for oranges in November. But if he wins, how do you like them apples?
Re: dictionary, your friend appleswan already defined white supremacist. And according to appleswan's definition, Trump is NOT a white supremacist.
Also, I never attack people's intelligence in a debate. Something that you could learn to elevate the professionalism of political dialogue. You might actually inspire others when you keep it classy.
I see analogies escape you as well.
good luck
