Karissa Schweizer is going to do turn heads in the 5000 next year, IMO.
Where is the 5 year defending olympic champ Centrowitz? On that note where is Kincaid

This race didn't do anything to bring interest among the public. BTC is killing this sport.
Nope. If anything covid is killing the sport, not them. Super fast times and world leads bring in tons of interest. Obviously we didn’t see the races unfold but don’t act like you weren’t stoked to see the times they ran. Plus they said they’d probably have some video footage coming soon.

How about the RACE? Some really impressive stuff
McGorty makes a big jump into the Pro world with a competitive 5000m PR and jumps to 19th all time for USA.
Fisher too. 18 second PR. Shows what both McGorty, Fisher and Cranny can do when focused trading and sleep are their study versus a heavy load of classes at Stanford.
This so much. I've stated many times how demanding the workload at Stanford (or MIT, Harvard, etc) is compared to a regular D1 colleges. People didn't wanna listen to me and still wanted Tuohy, Ewert, etc. to go to Stanford. Now we have proof that they made the right choice - get a similar level of education at a much less (academically) competitive/demanding school, and really be able to get their running to the next level.

On the flip side, not broadcasting a high quality TT like this during a time when running fans are craving things to get excited about is just idiotic. BTC is free to do whatever they want but I suspect they turned a bunch of people who were previously supporters into neutral observers or even detractors. I don’t think the above is really debatable it just is what and it is and seems like it was easily avoidable.
Exactly. People can think about the Tinman Elite guys whatever they want, but if there is one thing they really achieved it was to get general population interested in T&F and move the sport forward. Lots of attention and visibility on YouTube, and now you see kids in TME shirts in pretty much any major city.
They might not be the very fastest runners in the nation right now, but they do understand marketing and "popularizing a sport", and the importance of that. T&F can't survive if there are 100 millions of people out there running each day, but only a few thousand follow the sport.
And before I get blamed again for referencing TME - Symmonds, an individual, has also done a great job in marketing and popularizing running. BTC puts their time trials and races behind a curtain, making it very hard to find out what happened, even for people who watch T&F every day. The average Joe running on the streets has no idea that some BTC runners ran 13 low/14 high in the 5k this week, they are actually more likely to know when the next TME t-shirts go on sale or where they can find another pack of RunGum.
Sure, you could argue they actually focus on running fast, and run impressive times, but it doesn't hurt them to live-stream these things or put real races together, the sport needs that to keep moving forward.

Just so we're straight here, you're saying that kids shouldn't go to Stanford so that they can take their running to the next level after college? Yet you're using Cranny, McGorty, Fisher, etc. Stanford grads who are having great performances and professional careers, as proof of this?

Obviously.
I think he is admitting that he is an idiot who is infatuated with Tuohy. He is trying to justify her decision but did the opposite. How many NC State grads ran fast in the race last night as compared to Stanford grads? People just don't realize that it is much harder to get into Stanford but once you are in, you don't fall behind or receive bad grades. Any sign of problems and you are assigned a tutor and the professors provide extra assistance. Attend a regular state school and you are taught the same material but you are expected to pass the classes on your own. If not. You disappear and somebody else takes your place. My neighbor played basketball at Stanford a few years ago and graduated with a 3.75 GPA even though he was on the road constantly. He said that it was much easier than high school. He was even at the very low end of admitted students in terms of ACT and grades.
You’re right - I should just be happy to look at paper results the next day. I really enjoy the 1950s style of living.
And poor video quality and announcing? Pssht - who cares! All sports still struggle with that. Oh wait, no, it’s just track and xc.
Can’t get the venue to let you live stream? Give up! It’s not like UFC bought an island just to TRY and make their sport accessible still.
Sorry you’re happy with our sport being trash. I want it to be better.
That’s funny coming from the guy who has railed Hunter/Tinman for too much self promoting.
They could have used our track for free and we would have streamed it for them. This was obviously a bad decision on their part because they didn't want to be shamed by their liberal friends and fans for not enough social distancing when they were hugging and slapping butts.
Good god, learn the facts.

What track is yours and what kind of railing do you have?

I actually don't trust anyone in this thread. I was being sarcastic because I don't believe that anyone in this thread actually knows what was or wasn't allowed. Yet they all are stating everything as fact. I think they are all full of it.
Is that why you lied about what we told you?

Just because they didn't run? There could be plenty of reasons not to race. Do you know that they have series injuries?
I found a photo of the "race" for you minions
