So every season it becomes painfully obvious that I'm more inclined towards distance/endurance races like the 3K/5K. My times for shorter distances (1500m, 1K, 800m) are all considerably worse compared to my times in longer races. (For example my 3K PR is 10:52 but my 800m PR is 2:35.)
I'm trying to not go too crazy with running workouts yet because I don't want to overtrain or anything (which I'm historically prone to do), so I'm looking for non-running strategies to help with speed and I'm wondering if HIIT would be helpful or not.
Thanks to anyone with input!
