No lol, I live in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and there really is a 50K taking place on July 19th. The registration passed over a month ago I believe.
So, you're in E-town, huh? You are not ready for it.

Yep, you’ve heard of it?

Yes. Yes I have. I've been there several times.
Well you only have a month so I'm not even sure I should suggest this but the one very different thing I do when preparing for ultras is run 2 long days on the weekend. Most ultra runners do this a few times in a build up, I do it every weekend. The general idea is to essentially make yourself get up and go out and run say 8 or 10 miles the day after a 2 to 3 hour run which has left you sore when you wake up. I have no idea what this does physiologically but psychologically it sort of simulates getting up from the chair at the rest station at mile 20 after you've gorged on M&Ms and pretzels and changed socks. I guess the other positive thing it does is if you have a hectic work week it helps make sure you get in decent weekly mileage. It may be that the 50K you're running has walkers and folks out for a nice jaunt but if not you might be pretty miserable. I've been in ultra races where walking the whole way I would have had plenty of company and others where I am struggling to keep up with the back of the pack
Was it postponed 7 months?
Sorry, I was thinking he said he only had a month than saw July race date
