1) How long has Brown had a varsity track team? Of the sports cut what is the history of each?
2) Ivy League should institute minimum standards to be in the league. Sports with a long tradition you must participate in at varsity level to be in league.
Also a bit ironic that the Ivy League which is known for academics is first and foremost and athletic conference. But track is such a mainstream sport I think it should be a requirement for the league.
Now realizing only men’s track is being cut. So this is a title IX decision. Sad they think quotas is a way to go when they offer nearly 40 sports .
Be interesting if a man on the team sued. Clearly men’s track athletes are being discriminated against even if the school wants to argue its for the overall good.
