Wednesday: 4x800 w/400 off, 3x200 with 60-90 sec stand/walk (8.6 total)
Thursday: 16.5 bike (61 min)
Friday: AM 5. Afternoon track 1,500m breakdown 2x(6-4-3-2) 11.1 total
Saturday: 5/3.8 double over 8 min pace
Sunday: 14.5 @6:13 w/2x4 mile "subtempo (.5 jog) avg 5:53
Total: 64 miles in 7:40, 1 hour cross training
First time really doing three workouts in a week. I am wrecked after the long run. My workout Wednesday was terrible. I suffered from the first step. I averaged 2:29 which ought to basically be 10k pace based on how I've been training. Sometimes it just isn't happening, but I needed to grind this one out. The 400 jog was honest under 1:40, so I totaled 2.75 continuous miles at 5:21 pace. The 200s went well I ran 28.x for all of them without straining which is encouraging.
Second workout was better. I hit 1:38, 64, 47, 31, 1:36, 65, 48, 29 to averaged under 64 pace. Was hard but good times.
Today's LR I wanted to get more quality in because I've been doing no threshold work. The pace I ran should basically be slower than marathon effort but it was hard (felt like threshold) today. Headwind uphill out tailwind downhill back. 24:30/22:20 for my 4 mile repeats. Whole run was continuous.
Hopefully I am getting in better shape. I need to lose weight and smash the hard track workouts the next three weeks.
