Real question is will we start collectively thinking that Nico isn't the all around best distance runner this track season. Seems like there is a ton of competition

Sinclaire Johnson did great there.
Josh Thompson as well.
And Tom Farrell.

Looks like he's limping or has an asymmetric stride?
Yes it appears there is an asymmetric stride in the last 200 meters but I think it's 95% optical illusion because the video isn't HD and he's wearing a dark vest and shorts contrasted against his arms and legs.
If you watch the entire race here you see he has a smooth stride

Hope none of these kids get symptomatic covid
Impossible for anyone this fit.

Hand timed? Either way, the kid is incredible. Was he paced through 8/12/14?
Does he go to a full high school?
Anybody know how fast he can run a football 40 at my local ball field? I don't understand track anymore since Larry Rawson isn't broadcasting. Did he grow up on farm milking cows? So much is missing without LR.
"The outdoor track and field season may be over, but six high school athletes from the west coast have a plan in motion to go after a sub-4 attempt in the full mile together.
Matt Strangio, Cole Sprout, Thomas Boyden and Leo Daschbach say they will attack a competitive mile on May 23 in California, while Nathan Green and Easton Allred are likely attendees but not guaranteed at this point. "

No. His high school is about 9 meters short of a full HS.
honestly watching this to footloose was very entertaining

Too bad the U.S. couldn't have done a Swedish approach. We have been denied probably the best track prep track season (distance) in history.
And yeah, if we did that, maybe an additional 30,000 people would have died. You know, just old people mostly, so who cares, right? Those people's live would have TOTALLY been worth seeing some good HS track times.
But 30,000 die every year in auto accidents. If we shut down all leisure travel, we could save 15,000 lives. But those are just children and middle aged people primarily who are completely innocent. 30,000 die of the flu every year and many of those are innocent children. If shut down for the next year, we could save those 30,000 people. How could you argue with that? Don't you care about them? Wait a minute. Experts are predicting that our shutdown will cause an additional 10 million to die of starvation in the world. So the 30,000 that we saved in the US are in exchange for the 10 million that we will kill in the rest of the world. I guess you only care about your own life.
I was there when he did it and it was a full mile 1609.3 meters. The full video can be seen on YouTube. I can also confirm that the wind was about 15 MPH when he did it.
Any competitive distance runner knows that 1600m is not a mile. Just having been awake in math class is also good enough.

Why is this a thread on the front page? Did something happen to the kid?
Almost certainly whoever was populating the front page content saw this thread in the recent activity because Derrick1523 bumped it with a random comment 12 hours ago, didn't read the post to see that it's close to 2 years old, and just dropped a link on the front page assuming it was recent.
At least, that's my take. If something developed recently in this story I'd love to hear about it.
What has he run for the full 1500?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
