My motivation was just better health, but I just lost 18 lbs (1 lb/wk) by going mostly vegetarian. Enough with all the labels, just think of it as a low fat, low sugar diet. I wasn't even intending to lose weight, just had a health scare and needed to reduce cholesterol. The weight loss just came with the new diet.

Under the guidance of a nutritionist-
No dairy, sugar, red meat. Salmon and chicken1 x week.
Main ingredients are made of black beans, brown rice, quinoa, bulgur, lentils, ground oats, beets, sweet potatoes, tofu, spinach, other vegetables
Made in the form of burgers, enchiladas, spaghetti, salads.
Add berries, dried fruit, nuts, flaxseed, chia seeds
Spices and olive oil to make it taste good.
Breakfast- oatmeal or fiber cold cereal
Whole wheat bread, tortillas, noodles
Snack on apple sauce, carrots and Trader Joes fruit bars
I'm full and don't miss a thing.
Wasn't really hard. You just have to have a major health scare to rewire your brain...I'll save you the trouble :).
Oh and I walk, bike, or run or some combo 1 hr a day.
Blood values went from good to very good.
