Well, that 0/10 trolling effort aside, how many high school girls broke 20:00 in the Pennsylvania High School Cross Country Finals last year?

116 in the three divisions combined.

That's running on grass and over hill and dale. Likely on a course that is harder than your average local 5K, which would be on pavement and frequently would be pretty flat.

So, would you think a 3:11 marathoner would find a flat, fast 5K and better a time that 116 high school girls managed to run on grass and hills.

This is probably all my fault for looking the other way back when Mikey was in the fifth grade.

The principal decided that she would require all the kids to run a mile in less than 10 minutes by the end of the year. Except for Mikey's best friend, Kenny (who was a bit overweight), he was the slowest and was nowhere near being able to finish in under 10 minutes. On top of that, the kids picked on him and said he ran like a duck.

Mikey was distraught and so his Dad decided he'd just hold Mikey out of school that day and say he was on a educational trip. Unfortunately, this resulted in a strongly worded letter from the principal that the mile was mandatory and his absence was not excused.

So his Dad told the principal that he would have Mikey run a mile and let her know his time. That evening, Kenny went with Mikey to the track so Kenny could time Mikey. When they came back, Kenny said Mikey ran it in 7 minutes! Since he had told me his previous best time when they ran at school was 12:30, and that he felt like he was going to die, I was a bit astonished. But Mikey was so happy for the first time in months that I didn't say anything else. In fact, he still has the photo Kenny took of him with the Polaroid as he finished (to show the principal that he had run). Mikey seemed very proud that he ran it in 7 minutes and he wasn't even tired or sweaty.

So now I'm left with hard questions. While I want to believe that my boy really ran that mile in 5th grade and that he didn't cheat at the LVM marathon, even I am having doubts.

Mike, if you are reading this, please tell the truth. And Kenny, if you are reading this, were you Mike's accomplice .. again?

You are welcome. It didn't end there. He tried to come back by suggesting she look at the so called evidence before she comments. Her reply was - I did.

My reply would be Mike - Why the hell don't you supply the evidence you petulantly claim you have? Oh, I know why, because the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus have it.

Then he misrepresents the truth by saying he was cleared!!!! The statement issued by LVHN Via Marathon never said nor used the word clear. They never said they believed that you ran the race, MIKE. Please shows us where they said that. You can't! You won't. Instead you keep up you little attacks here and elsewhere to assuage your need for self-validation. He also tweeted the he is trying to get healthy from a torn gluteus (yeah, someone ripped him another one, lol) and that his family runs a huge charity event.

Cecily replied, NOT CLEARED IN THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION, but certainly your right to pick you own path.

Rossi was not trying there! He paid $60 to jog a half@ss effort!

Rossi never tried in any race but one! So he's paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars in order to have some traffic control for basic training runs.

He also proudly displays finisher medals/participation trophies from many of these races where he was not even trying to run fast!

Who among us hasn't bought a medal display to showcase trinkets from training runs and then photographed said display and made it our Facebook cover photo?

Obviously Mike was just goofing around on all 20 or so of his non-LVM races. That's why he made such a big deal about them and was so proud of his slow times. As part of the gag, can't you see?

So, clearly, it makes sense that Rossi can somehow run faster than his 10K PR for an entire marathon. And the no photos thing is just an amazingly bad coincidence for Mike.
