AA provides very little in the way of data driven remedies for alcoholism. For some, moderation is far more helpful and successful long term than abstinence.
I don’t know about data, but I’ve always been confused about this extreme binary mentality. Either 100 beers or zero beers.
Tracking days with zero alcohol. So if I had a couple of beers one night then I have somehow “failed” in a horrible way? You went six months without a drink and then had a few one night. So what? That’s what alcohol is for.
I don’t believe in this whole “disease” mentality. That’s a complete abandonment of individual responsibility and accountability. Just control yourself. Self control is required in all aspects of life.
