Yasso is a fool.
He said he doesn't want the folks at VIA thinking about Mike Rossi. Fine, they should have disqualified him then.
Which course of action makes Mike Rossi more of a distraction, pain in the ass, and general annoyance for month after month with no end in sight?
To disqualify him as the obvious cheater that he is or to turn a blind eye, claim the evidence is inconclusive, all while leaving the door open to consider more evidence should it be made available?
If they had DQed him this would be yesterdays news. Their calculus regarding how to handle this cheater was fvcked. Again, the reputations of three people are damaged when it should have just been one.

Do you really think for one minute that if Via comes out and DQs him now that the fools with fake FB profiles will stop posting crap on the Via page or on here?
Not a chance. It's no longer about getting him DQ'd (which I believe he deserves). It's about a mob mentality and acting like fools.

Mike's c0ck catcher jr.
Keep in mind that while the race raise money for charity, I can assure you that Barb is not organizing it out of the kindness of her heart. She is making big money from this races.
The give you an example, he CEO of the Susan G. Komen foundation made $684,000 in 2012. People at this marathon are making money and not doing three jobs properly. Barb McKeever needs to be held accountable for protecting a cheater. Even if it means turning this years race into a cheat-a-thon to make a point.
Mike should stay home wrote:
Why ever run again ? wrote:If I were Mike I wouldn't run in any organized race again . What's to be gained or lost if he doesn't care what anyone here thinks . It'd be a lot easier to say , my injuries have forced me to stop running and pursue a less intense activity . We all know for a fact he can't meet any of the challenges set here even if he was healthy , he isn't a seasoned experienced runner so why continue the deception any longer , he will only end up validating all of our accusations that he cheated VIA , so instead the easy way out is to quit running all together using the injury excuse , we will all say BS , but to his minions and supporters they will all buy it because they don't know anything about the sport . Seems like the smartest way out to me .
Mike should not even THINK about going to VIA in Sept . He should just stay away , really Mike , I know you're reading this , if I were you ( thank God I'm not) I'd avoid the public humiliation thats going to ensue . Just like those Ferguson riots where out of towners with no real interest except looting and starting trouble showed up. Thats whats going to happen at VIA . You should avoid the situation . Isn't September a busy wedding month . Work a wedding that day instead . Why be harrassed ? Privately admit to yourself you F'd up . I know you want to probably stare down your detractors but Iits going to be you against about 100 at least . Prople are going to be looking for you and when someone finds you near the starting point its going to be like flys on s*** . Be smart , run some other marathon or 5k another weekend but VIA is just going to be " way too hot" for you ever again . It's fine if are too scared to admit what you did especially because your family & friends still care about you even tho most here don't and want to publicly vilify you . But you're either very stupid or in total denial if you think by showing up at VIA is going to be a good experience . My advice is fade away
No way he bails out . He wants more attention .Too arrogant to know better that showing up at VIA this year is going to be the worst experience ever . Cant wait to watch him get called out and villified this will be epic . Get there early . Watch the fun !

Not only do I not think that, I didn't write it either. Note the past tense. If they HAD done the right thing, they could focus on things other than Rossi and their reputations would be intact. But that ship has sailed. A DQ today would do a little damage control but most of the harm is done.
When I say their calculus was fvcked, I mean at the time of the original "decision." They thought they played it smart. They didn't. They were fools.

"reputations intact"? Other than a few loonies, I'd say their reputations are intact. The results speak for themselves.

Whatever number of runners at LVM this year, it would have been more if Barb and Bart had DQ'd an obvious cheater like Rossi. The known evidence is conclusive that he did not run the entire distance on the course. The course was poorly designed and the race was poorly run allowing anyone to cheat. Since there were no timing mats other than at the start and finish, and no office video check-points, it is necessary to fall back on the official photos, supported by further investigation, to check on any questionable results. Based on Rossi not being in any photos on the course, a history incompatible with being able to run a sub-3:50 marathon, and a social media track record which makes it inconceivable that he would run a "miracle" race and not post about it, this is as clear a case of cheating that you will see except for someone who crosses the start line on their motor scooter. Barb and Bart may think they made the right decision for the charity, but they are mistaken. It appears Bart is beyond his "best by" date and Barb is the epitome of the Peter Principle.

Can you provide the names of any runners who would have run Via this year and did not because they did not DQ Rossi.
Thanks in Advance
I think you have way overestimated your impact.

It is very obvious that Barb is making big money out of these races.
Check out
https://www.linkedin.com/pub/barb-mckeever/5a/599/529and
http://www.memracing.com/index.htmlAlso she continues to promote the Via marathon (0 Rossi mats, a heaven for cheaters) as "third fastest marathon in the country", "4th highest Boston qualifying % of US marathons":
http://www.viamarathon.org/According to this site they are #11, not #4 last year for Boston qualifying%. I assume that % includes Rossi. ;) Maybe we can contact them to reduce the number by 1 runner.
http://www.findmymarathon.com/marathon-news/best-boston-marathon-qualifiers/I wonder where they get the "third fastest marathon in the country" and what the criteria is.
#11 on the charts, #1 in your hearts...
We all know too well how much of a shield such a dogooder-undertaking is!
That woman is like Mr. Armstrong.
Why do we all think that Rossi is running a 5K in Allentown in late November? Did he post that online somewhere or was it just made up by trolls?
Mike, if you are running that race, change your FB profile pic to Dolly Parton. Failure to do so means you won't show up for the race, which is my guess. You can basically never race again without embarrassing yourself now that the Brojos have made their $10,000 offer. Every time you race you will fail to beat one of those times and that's all anyone will care about. Definitely no one cares about your participation-trophy finisher medals, Mikey. And they never did.

Not me. I've been an observer and occasional poster on this thread since the beginning and I think Rossi should have been DQed, but I'm not going to let Rossi determine what race I run one way or the other. If Via was the best fit for me, I'm not going to avoid it out of spite. What good would that do me? I wasn't planning on doing it, but if I had planned on doing it their non-DQ would have no effect on my decision.
The number of runners who avoid Via because of their non-DQ of Rossi is very close to zero.

I ran it last year and won't be this year because of their decision to not DQ Rossi. Maybe I'm just more idealistic than you are. You're not willing to do the right thing if doing so will inconvenience you.
That sounds like the reasoning that Barb McKeever and Bart Yasso used when they came to their decision to not DQ Mike Rossi... of course, they miscalculated horribly...
Some people are more idealistic... and no, I won't be posting my real identity on Letsrun. I've been here long enough to know better than to do that and I also don't need Rossi to start stalking me on social media.
