Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

Yes, this seems obvious. I thought more a lame attempt to get the thread shut down. Except they make as much sense as him running a 3:11 marathon while avoiding every photographer on the course. Suddenly somebody finds this thread whose kids go to school with Mike's, after school is out... yeah, I think Mike writes to and answers himself quite a bit.

We were talking/laughing about this same thing during our group long run this weekend. Even at 47 he is way past how long people do this. We were going back over weddings we'd been to and none of us can remember a DJ who wasn't in their 20's (or a family friend). It's the job you do in university before you grow up and get a real job. 47 and working for tips? That's a loser.

Also - who would want an old dude with bad hair as a DJ? How old are the people who get married in PA? Do you want someone as old or older than your dad as the DJ? The last wedding I was at had this young, good looking fun girl as the DJ (she was awesome), that's what you want, I can't imagine having some creepy old guy with fake hair there, it would have been terrible.

The guy needs to grow up and get a real job, I'm sure he can invent all the qualifications he needs, go to universities and take pictures of himself at other people's graduations etc. - that's proof of a degree right? If he has a picture at the grad, he must have went there for 4 years first. Only makes sense. Rossi sense.

Just curious - why does Mike Rossi take 99.9% of the abuse while the LVM RD take very little?

I get the fact that Mike Rossi is an unlikable man who brings much of this on himself, but why?

We all know he cheated, the evidence is overwhelming. Nobody needs any more evidence to show he cheated. It's clear he did. What we don't know is why he wasn't DQ'd. The explanation is weird. The easy and most obvious thing to do is just DQ. They don't even have to worry about lawsuits as they have insurance for that. If he was crazy enough to sue (which he wouldn't do) it wouldn't cost the race anything anyway as their insurer would provide a defense.

So I honestly don't know why the focus has ever been on looking for more evidence to show what we already know. What anyone should be doing is looking to find out the what we don't know - the only mystery - is why did the RD not DQ him? Somebody messed up somewhere or somebody did somebody a favor. It just doesn't make sense not to DQ.

There is more evidence there but I rather doubt any will make an impact on what was clearly a politically expedient if not (but likely) incompetent decision by the RD. I believe if this evidence could be brought to light - the video from the start - that the BAA could be approached to remove VIA as a BQ race. That would be awesome and just. However, doing the right thing these days is attacking the victims. Only a few will stand up to this bullying which is in reality is a simple paper tiger.Mike Rossi: Cheat. Liar. and POS.

I've wondered if/when the thread would take this turn. The race leadership has conclusive proof that he cheated. No more needs to be said about that.

The question becomes, do we target the race or Barb McKeever and what means are there to say, "You did a real disservice to the running community through your failure to act, so this is the price you pay..." And then hope that other race directors take note and do the job that they are getting paid to do in the future.

I mentioned crowdfunding an aerial banner or billboard to target Rossi. What about doing one or the other or both to target Barb McKeever? A big billboard right along the race route that has her picture and says, "This is Barb McKeever and she doesn't care if you cheat in this marathon. BQs for all!"

I've wondered this, too. I've thought of putting up billboards during the LVM. Maybe small signs over the entire 26.2 mile course. In no way do I want to take anything away from those who have trained for the race. This isn't their issue.

But race management needs to know this isn't going away after 10,000 posts or a year or an official statement that is tremendously weak.
