Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

It's been fun, but there is just too much negative energy here and too many new a$$holes who post bullshlt and lots of great people who used to post all the time who have left or gone underground. If you asked real Boston Marathon qualifiers (or those who are shut out because some cheater got in) to express how they feel about Rossi Ruiz, many would probably show you the pose seen in that Johnny Cash photo.

I missed the last 50 pages or so when it became a stupid competition to see who is the greatest loser: mike rossi or ken stillman? Have I missed anything that is mildly relevant at all?

I just bumped this thread from oblivion. If you are implying I am Mike you are oh so wrong. I have posted here since the very beginning of this great thread, and did a lot of photo verification early on.

I've said it before, but the longer McKeever goes without DQing Rossi, the more I suspect that she accepted a bribe to keep him in the results. Running Boston seems like the most important "accomplishment" of Rossi's life and he would no doubt go to great lengths to prevent a DQ.

Since that time, however, the running community has bombarded their Facebook page with evidence and frustration over the non-DQ. The photographic evidence and statistics were put into easily understandable video format that even an incompetent race director would be able to understand. There is also the threat that, without a DQ, runners will make a media spectacle of the 2015 race, by cutting the course and seeking out the media. Based on the evidence provided and on the negative publicity that the race is receiving and which will be ratcheted up in a huge way for this year's race, Rossi should have been DQ'd long ago.

Now... if Barb McKeever and/or the race committee accepted a bribe, they really can't reverse their decision because Rossi owns them. If they DQ him, he will go public about the race's leadership being corrupt and accepting bribes.

This really seems like the most plausible explanation to me, but Barb McKeever and the race committee can certainly prove skeptics wrong by (finally) doing the right thing and DQing Rossi.

I have written and expressed my opinion quite extensively here and on other sites/venues. As I have said, the problem is is that we don't know exactly what information the Committee reviewed. We do not know if they reviewed all the photos or video montage or the statistics. I think if you parse their statement, it is safe to assume that they did not review it. One would assume that they contacted or tried to contact the Top 200 runners to ask them if they could provide any insight. In the small sample contacted to date, those runners have all said that they were NOT contacted by the Committee.

I do not however think there were any bribes in this case, just indifference, lack of integrity and lack of intestinal fortitude. Perhaps coupled with the threat of legal action, but who knows.
