Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

I feel bad for saying this but I hope you guys can bring me back to a more positive side. Every year there is a July 4 race in my hometown and a lot of people come back almost like a homecoming of sorts. The proceeds go for high school scholarships to track and field athletes. It is everything good about running and America.

There is one guy from high school that razzed me in high school and shows up and pretty much beats me and a few others every year now and then rubs our noses in it. Tells us at the start that he'll wait around at the finish for us to cheer and all. But it is all passive aggressive.

Anyway we can't stand it but the fact is none of us are faster than him.

So this weekend we got to talk in about how this guy reminds us of what we perceive to be Rossis personality without the cheating and we wish we could give it to him. We tried training the last three years and no go. Either we did not improve or got hurt we are all getting older. So the suggestion is made this year that we all cut the course together, very easy to do and we are all such that no one would question us because of our jobs etc. alternatively that we trip him or something We pretty much rejected all that after a few beers.

But the idea of having one of us beat him is so tempting that I and one other guy can't stop thinking about either cutting the course or relaying a bib or something.

I know it is not worth it but it just is like an obsession that this guy is gonna taunt us. If we did it we would tell the race director in advance or right after so as not to screw anyone but we just want to be at the finish and "cheer" him on just once

Tell me I'm wrong. And to stop thinking about it.

What a coincidence. I work in a biochemistry lab. The last Monday of every June we do a "fun run" 20k. The smartest guy in our lab is seriously an evil genius and a true a$$hole. He is also crazy fast. Every year he wins the "fun run" and taunts us all year long - pretty much every day.. A bunch of us ran in college, but this guy is just too fast. He recently discovered a cure for cancer. He's that smart. But he won't tell anyone because he likes that people die. He has promised that he will release the secret to cure cancer if any of us can beat him at this years "fun run" - today! A bunch of us secretly met last night and are considering cheating to win - because then we could cure cancer. The big debate was would we still be like Mike Rossi if we cheated to cure cancer? We are still undecided. What should we do?

It must be awesome to come online and get a chance to be glib. Because in real life, you know you're looked at as a cheater.

Really? Really? You think this was Mike? You don't think the poster I was replying to was more likely Mike, or a friend of Mike? You didn't clue into this as an over the top post to show the absurdity and obvious nature of the previous post while simultaneously ridiculing the previous poster for the lame troll attempt (which was clearly aimed at creating a scenario of "so sometimes it's ok to cheat" - such obvious bull sh*t). You didn't clue into me also taking a direct stab at Mike Rossi with a bunch of runners actually torn as to what to do given the choice to cure cancer or be like Mike Rossi.

I come here occasionally to entertain while pointing out that Mike Rossi is obviously a cheater. My previous posts have included the trans-marathoner and that Barb has a penis, along with some other gems (likely in my opinion only). But now, to be accused of being Mike? I don't know. I may have to take my comic genius elsewhere. This is clearly the wrong crowd for me.

To be clear - based on the evidence, I think that it is overwhelmingly obvious that Mike Rossi cheated.

Alright - too much time wasted - got to run, Rossi style.

Since I now must explain myself, I used "Rossi style" comically to mean I used the word "run" - figuratively; so like Rossi, I'm not actually going to run. Get it? I've just got stuff I have to go do, I'm not going to literally go for a run. Ok. Good talk.
