No state is perfect. You might be just mistaken and jealous tho.
Hey from Zionsville here, and Carmel.... you are stuck up, rude and think you’re better than everyone else.
As I said, I’m from zionsville and I am extremely ashamed by that fact, sure it’s a safe place with a good school but the people there are just like carmalites, racist as f*@%k, entitled, aloof to the actual world, and brats. I hate it there so much that when I visit family there I get depressed the moment I see the stupid, ‘zionsville welcomes you sign’.
In conclusion, Indiana sucks, I don’t care if you’re from here or not. It may have some good things that come out of it like brown county but ultimately, I don’t want to live here for the rest of my like. The people who leave are the lucky ones and those who choose to stay must have something wrong with them.
F this, I’m moving to Europe.
Im just impressed that this thread has been going on for 6 years.
I live about 45 minutes from Indiana. Any nice places to go for a weekend trip? Cool areas in Indianapolis I should check out?

Columbus IN. One of the best cities in the US for modern architecture.
I recently ran the Indy Monumental - my first trip to Indy.
The entire family joined me and we were all impressed by how much the city's appearance reminded us of some of the places we visited a few months earlier in central Europe, including Vienna.
We'd like to return there during the warm months to try out the Canal area and the cafes.
It was very cold the weekend of the marathon.
You coastal folks need to stop living in the 1950's when Rickie and Lucy were out in the boondocks by the time their car reached Connecticut.
Indiana is better than the vast majority of states

My only impression of Columbus, IN was the (now-demolished) Clarion Hotel on 46 and the strip malls over there. Never went over to the actual city but it looks like a fine town.
I love Bloomington though. It's a gorgeous college town and seems like a very livable area for students, graduates, and families.
Didn't get a good read on Indy since I was only going to Lucas Oil Stadium but it's probably not that bad.

The state as a whole is generally conservative, but there are pockets where general backwards "Bible-belt" ideology (social issues/zealotry) is taken to a whole new level, you have to see it to believe it. The Northwest Area near Chicago (Gary/Hammond) is for the most part a ghetto/dump, and there are pockets of predominantly trailer trash areas in Northern/Central Indiana.
Please try to be respectful. As a libertarian, I believe that this sort of language about the Bible should be illegal.
Christian, conservative, MORAL Indiana is way better than socialist Cali where you live.
Really? Try West Virginia
…………….but Indiana has Larry (I'm just a hick from French Lick) Bird!
Hate for Indiana is justified, but most of this thread describes things that are prevalent across the Midwest.
There's just NOTHING, and NOTHING to do. There's nothing in these states, but farming or whatever has all the land fenced off anyway. Just roads, farms, shitty weather, and nothing. The people are dumb, or bible-thumpers, the food is terrible, alcoholism/meth is an issue, and did I mention the people are dumb? This means everything is dumb.
The state's Pete Buttplug will make a great POTUS. (Hes gay ya know, not that theres anything wrong with that).

Now I'm not a big city snob or anything like that but traveling from my home in the northeast USA for business in Indianapolis and Lafayette I could feel myself honestly becoming depressed from these areas. They are absolutely devoid of any semblance of history, character, color, geographical personality, and appeal. I have never been so grateful and excited to return home after such a short business trip.
Please, if you can, avoid the state of Indiana. You've been warned. (Also, worst drivers I've ever seen.)
That says more about you than the state of Indiana if you have such a weak constitution that being located there for 24 hours made you depressed.
Sack up bruh! (I'm not from Indiana either)
I'm not even from Indiana and have never lived there and I am glad you are leaving. Don't let the door hit you in the a55 on the way out. (U+1F44B)

Fellow Hoosier here!
You went to Indy and Lafayette and wrote off the whole state? Sounds like a classic eastern business snob to me.
Try northwest Indiana along Lake Michigan, beautiful shoreline and some great beaches.
Yep, Gary Indiana is the happiest place on Earth

Yup, the northeast sucks (for the most part). They do tend to be very progressive, so I'll give them that.
Are you under the impression that Indiana is part of the Northeast or that it is in any way progressive?
Indiana is pretty darn close to Canada, and is only 3 small states away from the Atlantic Ocean (two if you consider that Philadelphia is a port of the Atlantic, which you should). So, yeah, it is definitely in the Northeast. It is way closer to Canada than Arkansas is to Mexico, and is way closer to the Atlantic than New Mexico is to the Pacific.

Libertarians do not think much of anything should be illegal.
It's no secret Indiana sucks
The only good thing that ever came from Lafayette was Axl Rose
