Black Label used to be $.99 a 6 pack back in the '70's. The best malt liquor was Pink Champale.

Old German for me, too. I seldom buy it because I prefer Yuengling and trying different micro-brews, but sometimes all I got is $5
Milwaukee's Best Ice. 5.5% Alcohol. It comes in a Keg pack with 48 cans for $14. After drinking three you can't taste it anymore anyway.

I learned something in school today. In one of my advertising classes, my professor told us that in a blind taste test, Old Milwaukee was voted the best-tasting (American) beer.
txRUNNERgirl: I'm not sure I believe that!
I'm a fan of Yuengling, I have a fridge full right now and I live in SE Michigan! Stocked up in South Carolina...Natty Light or pbr for "inexpensive stuff"....although, has anyone ever had a 40 of The Cat?
What other beers were in this test? Who did they give this test to? I wouldn't take one taste test to mean anything without knowing a little more about it. I mean American beer sucks in general, but Old Milwaukee sucks more than most.
majority of college parties seem to have keystone light, id have to go with that...always smoooth
Busch Light for sure. Crisp, refreshing, and doesn’t make you bloated
Rolling Rock when I was in college.
Stroh's post-college.
Old Style when I first moved to Chicago.
Now I mostly drink more expensive craft beers, but my cheap go-to would be Sierra Nevada.
Cheap beer of choice. Miller High Life. I like to sip a 16 oz can while I make dinner

This is a great old thread. And I agree; you can't go wrong with the Champagne of Beers.
There are a few decent choices at Trader Joe's that you can pick up for $5/six-pack.

I used to do PBR but it has a weird slighty sweet taste that starts to taste worse as the beer warms up.

Which choices do you recommend?

Busch Light. Hands down.
Not sure why this thread continued on after the first response since it was correct and should have been the end of the thread.

The only good beer mentioned thus far.
And very cheap if you are normally drinking Goose Island Bourbon County Stout Rare ($90-$110/bottle) or similarly priced beers.

Old Milwaukee has a good and cheap Non Alcoholic beer. I try to drink these in between my higher ABV, more expensive microbrews: Firestone, Stone, Lagunitas, Faction, Ballast Point, etc.
Gotta be Busch heavy can. I drank it in college and it's my first choice post college.
PBR
But, and I will love you if you have, has ANYONE had Simpler Times from Trader Joe's? In college we lived right down the street from a Trader Joe's, and a 6-Pack goes for $3.99. Not the absolute cheapest, but we drank that stuff more than anything. Loved it.
