Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

By the way, DQ or no, your times will never be "legit". You cheated at LVM and you qualified for Boston under false pretenses. You know this and we know this. The vast majority of your friends and co-workers know this. Those that pretend to believe you are just playing along with your stories in order to save you further embarrassment. Remember that, Mike, next time you are wearing one of your 15 Boston jackets. Every person that sees you wearing it and knows your story is either pitying you or silently laughing at you. No one respects you. No one is impressed by what you did.

Good job, Mike, best case scenario is that you've been an object of pity. But mostly, everyone in your life will be mocking you and you can never wear your Boston gear without dredging all this back up in their minds. You can never have a public twitter, facebook, or blog about running without endless comments about your cheating. That must kill an egotistical attention hound like yourself.

Congrats Mike, that's quite a victory.

I think in the long run the non-DQ will actually be worse for Mike Rossi. That would have been some closure to the whole thing and nobody would have cared after a few months. Plus he could have spun it to act like he was the victim. Now, the whole thing is open-ended and certain people are not going to let it go. No way can Rossi Ruiz ever run another race without tons of scrutiny. He can't even post anything about running on his private FB profile without one or more of his "friends" posting it here which will just keep the whole thing going and going. Only way he can make this go away now is to never run again, never mention running online, never wear this Boston hat/jacket/shirt, basically act like it never happened. Which is a fitting punishment because he obviously didn't care about any intrinsic reward for having accomplished a goal of a BQ and earning the right to line up in Hopkinton. He only cared about the extrinsic reward of feeding his own ego and drawing more attention to himself. That has been stripped away from him now. I don't believe in Karma, but I like how this whole thing has played out. Poetic Justice has had the last laugh at Rossi Ruiz.
