You obviously haven't looked at her competitors and in case you haven't noticed Shalane is much leaner.

The Brojos (American born) knew that when they created this thread because it'll generate clicks. It would be nice if they combated some of the attacks about Jordan's weight and appearance. But they won't. Long live the boards.

I hope you're joking, but she was of course a top tier high school and college runner. And certainly I hope you're not comparing collegiate athlete success with pro athlete success. In any case, to answer the original question - she did not have any great performances before joining Salazar because there was nothing before him. She has been with him her entire pro career.

After your body fat percentage drops too low your risk of fractures goes up dramatically. Not saying people should be overweight as that increases risk of fractures too. But being too lean is unhealthy. And my main hypothesis of why Ritz has been injury plagued so much throughout his career is because he is too skinny.

Healing time said 6-8 weeks when I looked it up. I guess it depends on the severity.

I'm sure she'll be back on her feet in no time.

My post got deleted already, but I think she's been mildly malnourished the last couple of years and it's starting to catch up to her.

Are your thoughts based on anything other than her appearance?

It seems unlikely to me that with all of the things Salazar and the NOP do to get marginal gains, they'd overlook something as important as nutrition.

Reporting facts is just fine, and I don't believe this is the issue. The issue is that you have taken no action to address the remarks about Jordan's weight or rumors of an eating disorder.

Unless things have changed since I've last checked, football players can be fined if they come into the season too heavy. This is probably one reason why it is mentioned in this article. Additionally, it seems like it is known fact that Elliot lost weight or is simply just fitter going into the season. The tone about the male abuser/football player's weight is far less disrespectful than the tone on this message board about a hardworking female elite athlete.

This message board is often misogynistic, and this is just one example. I think LetsRun needs to do better than trying to justify rumors or attacks on an individual via an article (that wasn't even written by LetsRun) discussing a football player's fitness. It's not a matter of Jordan's fitness, as we all know she is injured and therefore not fit.

It does appear many on this message board wants to bathe in Jordan's misfortune. And it's too bad this behavior never seems to change on this website, and frankly gets pretty old.

I understand Sally Kipyego has the same exact heel fracture? Can anyone confirm?

I tore my plantar fascia and developed a calcaneal stress fracture. It took about a year to get over the entire injury. I had plantar fasciitis (no SF) on my other foot and took about 6 months. You lose a lot of fitness with such a serious injury. Even if you do try to run through it you still can't perform optimally. At her level, this is a huge difference. I hope she can get fully healthy by next year and have a year to prepare for the Olympic Trials.

I wouldn't call speculations of an eating disorder "bathing in Jordan's misfortune".
