Amy Hastings (Cragg) finished fourth in the Olympic Trials in 2012. The second she crossed the line, she knew that all the hard work, pain, effort of the past 4 years were gone and that she had to wait 4 more years for another chance to try again.
In 2016, she won the race and in the World Champs in 2017 she was 3rd.

Great picture. It's interesting that people seem to be more concerned that Rupp didn't show up the next day for a promotional appearance for people he doesn't know than to see how he treats those he actually knows.
Let's be honest. The hate and moronic comments toward Hasay are because of who she chose to associate with. Not sure how much "choice" she actually had, given the information that has come out about Cain and others. There are also negative comments about her performance on Saturday. She has hinted as to why she chose to finish. She could have dropped with the other favorites. Regardless, because she is under the microscope, her choices will be criticized and twisted. She's a talented athlete and a tremendous human being. She deserves our support. She doesn't deserve to be ripped apart by jealous trolls on this site.
The hatred I am sure comes from the Al Sal connection. For example, I was on the rail at Millrose in 2001 next Bob Kennedy and his wife. When Regina was being interviewed as the MSG crowd was going crazy (remember this was on the old track), coaches/agents from the world were yelling "What's the new drug of the month?" I then knew I was fooled as a journalist on a story I had written.
Flash ahead to the Pro Team Meet Series and the Eugene Meet. I was parking my car and looked up to ask someone where I could get quarters on the U of O campus. The person happened to be Jordan Hasay (she had no handlers, coaches, agents etc with her). She was great to talk to, very helpful and we talked about the events she was about to run.... Later that same day as I was walking into the meet she was being mobbed by the fans and coaches (as she most likely was attempting to warm up). Great athlete and person.... She will bounce back and is a class act. If I was her would have my agent call Shalane and Jerry ASAP. She needs to be surrounded by her peers and take her running to the next level!!
Rupp is not here to be nice.... He IS here to crush it and trust me he did absolutely crush everyone in the Trials on a NON Rupp Certified course. Major props to Mike Smith for guiding Rupp and Molly's coach (who he coached at Georgetown) to incredible performances. Rupp is gracious and warm when talking to him (which I did many times this past weekend). His wife is absolutely wonderful and I got a completely different understanding then what the media will spin. I am SO glad you all will finally get to see Rupp Unleashed. The best is yet to come!!
