Before that everything was more or less the same. Now we have one shoe clearly faster than the rest.

First this just proves that all the other shoe companies need to step it up and release their own version. It can’t be that hard? Right?
Second it would be interesting to know adidas response to this from a contract standpoint, will they drop this athlete? Will Nike than sign him?

Do we know outright that Negesa is an Adidas sponsored athlete? It seems silly to think a 2:09 guy wouldn't be sponsored, but maybe he's not.

If he is one of their sponsored athletes, Adidas's could make a stand, as they should, and enforce whatever cause has been agreed in terms of breach of contract, which it likely just wont be limited to "drop" the athlete.... barring a "just cause" this dummy better be prepared to have to pay compensation to Adidas .... good luck dumbo
Many different contract types out there. And I agree maybe he is not sponsored by adidas at this time.
I've had gear only contracts before where I received minimal clothing and/or shoes, but was not required to wear these. There were meager cash bonuses if I did wear these and they were clearly visible in media photos.
Maybe someone just gave him an adidas top, shorts and socks and he chose to wear it that day. Or that is what he bought.
Maybe he used to be sponsored by adidas, but is no longer, and the leftover adidas kit is the best clothing he has.
Maybe he used to be sponsored by adidas, is no longer, but wore out all his adidas shoes. Wore the Nikes in this race, but would like to be sponsored by adidas again so he tried to camo the Nikes. Or is fishing for either a new adidas or Nike contract so wore both.
It is possible his adidas contract expired at the end of 2018, and he has yet to resign.

A stiff plate inside is a good idea and something I modified my shows with many decades ago, because almost all modern running shoe soles are too soft.
However it could be made from plastic, metal, wood, almost anything, not only from carbon fiber.

How close to 30 seconds is it? I ran 4:32 at regionals last spring and didn't make it to states but it was 1600 meters and not a mile. Can I where this shoe on the track for outdoor and be able to run 4:02 for the 1600 or does that only work for the mile? what else can I do to get to exactly 4:00 for the mile? It's my senior year.

Yes it works like that, come on , the formula is you take a 2:10 2:09 marathoner, make him wear a Nike 4% vaporfly,
take him to Dubai marathon et Voila' like a magick trick you will have a 2:03 marathoner!!! Isn't it easy?
Hmm probably not though.. he's now a top 10 marathoner. He probably gets a warning and maybe a small penalty for it. Would be a bad idea for adidas to make a big fuss out of it anyway.

Ahhh. You misheard. Its the left foot only. Not when each foot left the ground. The right foot gets no energy return and actually makes you turn in circles. Great for track.

I've tried both. The difference in amazing ! The adidas shoe is soft, but it feels like the return is lost in (no better word for it) misdirection. The Nike shoe is laser focused on forward return. I've only done training runs in them to test, but the Nike shoe is close to 30secs per mile faster.
When you say "forward return" you really mean catapult.
For the umpteenth time, why was the Spira shoes banned? Should it be reintroduced now?
